Hey, y'all.
Just figured I owed everyone yet another apology for failing to be on Cantr these past few weeks- I've been in a severe depressive state, and couldn't bring myself to do much of anything, let alone spend time checking my characters and playing Cantr. I'm alright now, and am planning on continuing to play, but I'm really sorry to all those whose chars were affected by my characters being so sleepy.

Re: Not dead!
I'm glad to read that you're feeling in a better place mentally. I know Cantr can also sometimes be hard on the depression, especially given the permanent nature of game consequences. I lost a beloved character this weekend and it kinda put me in a dark place. Not enough to step away, but I was pretty bummed. So I always understand when someone needs to step back - whether for a bit or permanently (or semi-perm... the green world sure draws people back!) Welcome back.

*hugs, or at least offers hugs and cookies*
I don't know if any of our characters have met, or remember if we've ever talked on the forums, but I empathize with your depressive state and hope you are feeling better soon. (And... that sounds totally cheesy, but I don't really know what else to say)
Er... here's something at least slightly relevant, that I think I discovered when I was only in a moderately depressed time. I think I found it slightly comforting, or maybe just odd? Hyperbole and a Half - Depression Part 2
And, to say something that will make no sense unless you read that link, I hope you find your piece of corn.

It's good to have you back. I suspect I know at least one of your characters, and I know you bring a lot to the game. Mental health always comes first, though, so take things easy if you need to.

Re: Not dead!
Depression affects people differently. I don't want to offer you a useless piece of fortune cookie advice or compare lives, but I know all too well what it's like to wake up some mornings and just be angry and not even know ( or care ) why.
All I know how to do is move forward one day at a time. It's not about staying positive or relying on a support group. There is no pill that will help me without also hurting me some other way and no shrink is gonna fix me with some educated opinion.
Every day brings something new and it's not always good either, but getting through the bad times only makes the good times so much better. And again this isn't me just being nice. We all have our problems. Seems like life only gets better as the years go on. I'm a happier person now as opposed to when I was in school. Like seriously some schools are about as safe as a minimum security prison.......
On a more positive note you clearly have friends both within the game and here on the forums. I even came back just to make this post. So clearly you've made an impression on some people or at least me.
Anyway I'll miss you. Thanks for being one of the reasons why I stayed a little longer.

Cantr would be boring without the unique cuddly direwolf.

I do want to suggest that there is a 'vacation' mode if someone wants to take a little time off.
I would furnish exact details but
I don't know them exact enough.
If anyone wants those details... Start a thread.
Somebody smarter than me will probably know it well.
Or if you have the schadenfreude of making me work hard, I'll figure it out and reply. (Oh please, please, please no)
This is one of the most emotional games I have known...
If you ever find yourself in a deep depression, whether it is or is not implemented by cantr, I urge and beg you to seek help. Whether it is professional, clergy, family, or whatever other non self-destructive means you can find... take care of #1 first.
