I'll support the ID suggestion simply because it's a step in the right direction. The radios really need two changes: remove anonymity (even if it's a random chance, but I realize that complicates implementation), and increase the number of frequencies long range in some way so people have a viable alternative to the main frequency. The latter could be done by chars in-game but it's a huge job just to get one more frequency available. I'd rather see a repeater have 3-5 frequencies, even if it costs additional materials.

I've always wished long range wasn't so...long ranged. Anything that happens anywhere, pretty much everyone in the entire world will instantly know it. People way off in primitive towns in the middle of nowhere get to constantly hear all about what's going on on Treefeather, it just adds to the boring homogenous 'everything everywhere is the same' feel of Cantr towns.
And in general I just think the game was more interesting when there was a point to organizing things like mail delivery or meetings between town leaders, and when people who wanted to deal with criminals had to do more than walk into the workshop and send out a radio message.

Really? All of my characters are on different islands, 3 are within the Cantr/Treefeather/Teregotha radio network and are the only 3 of my characters who ever hear about what's going on on Treefeather...

It's the Cantrian equivalent of the global village with all its good and bad points.

Agreed. Let's shake things up a little!

I'll admit the longest range is much longer than I'd expected, but even with that I've a character in a quiet but not primitive town who can only reach one receiver. There are radioless places, they're just not the busiest places
