Don't they mean a stereotypical "Texas accent" with that? I'm unaware of a stereotypical European accent though, because there's so many (wildly) different ones.

Should have thrown in a Janner accent there as well to complete the mix.

Wiro - I don't know about that, southern accent doesn't mean the same thing to everyone, and definitely not to me. Although, I did hear people refer to a "general European accent" meaning one that's devoid of characteristics of any one European country - ie. doesn't sound Spanish/Italian/Polish etc but sounds European nonetheless.

I find that, here in Canada at least, what people THINK is a Texas accent usually turns out to be more like Kansas or something. I find that real Texan accents are an improvement over what people think they are. My step father's from Alabama, and his accent's faded quite a bit, although still noticable. But when he speaks to other Alabamans (is that what they're called?) it comes out in full force. I think that one sounds as 'southern' as any, really.

Once I wanted to play a char with Medieval English accent, but it was tiring so I quit. :D

I'm well aware that these stereotypes are typically wrong. But at least the idea behind them tends to be somewhat consistent. I'm not sure if the European accent is like that at all, though I know in some movies it refers to a German accent.

But in Europe there are a lot of languages...german, english, french, spanish, polish, italian, greek, finnish, swedish, etc, etc, etc...etc, etc
It's impossible that there be only one "european accent".

There is... a lot of this going on and I have taken to using the filters for ALL TALKING and moving in and out of buildings in certain towns because of it.

*she whispers* Don't tell them. They probably think Europe is one country with the same language, currency, culture and traditions. Don't wake them up. :-)

No, we only think that about Africa, mostly.

I am currently suffering from an intense desire to tell people who my characters are warring with a knowledge that there's as much potential for bad in that as good, especially if it ends up in one-sided knowledge. Ugh. And I feel like some of the things I've said probably gave me away but I'm not really sure and that's more irritating than the one time I came right out and described an event that would blatantly give away a character.

In other news, aside from so many being inconveniently or depressingly sleepy I feel like everyone is being pretty awesome in-game right now, and I've been pleasantly surprised by my ability to have three characters with vastly differing feelings about someone.

You're right of course :) Only really guaranteed to work out for dead characters and those who don't see each other any more.

As I've stated before, I have an extremely small circle (2 people in 7+ years), and I can't imagine myself to be speaking to anyone else openly about my characters (ie outside general discussions). I sincerely regret knowing as much as I do (can't be helped as they are mostly not based on actual interaction with players or knowledge from them but observations, etc) and these days I remember why I wasn't really involved in the forum for the first three years of my game play. I guess that tiny (but highly elite :P) circle makes it worth it.

I've never really understood this... I mean, I've heard of players with grudges against players who have been going on killing sprees or something, but in general, what's the harm of being known? Especially when we're all obligated, under threat of being banned, to not let our outside knowledge influence our characters' behavior. Is this group not as mature and reasonable as I'd been giving them credit for?
