I kind of understand Doug. My loner characters (well, when I have them alone) might have thoughts, but if there's no one to "enjoy the show", I don't really have them say or do much.

If you are bored and alone or in a sleepy town...is a way of entertainment (like the kids playing alone, ussing their imagination).
Some of my characters have a second personality, one outside to interact with most of the people, and one inside more private (which, on rare occasions, I have the opportunity to RP with someone). At one point, I stopped to RP alone for lack of time; after I had a long sleepy time, when I had enough time again, I had to kill two (very old) characters, because I was unable to recover their personalities into my mind. So I -need- to roleplay alone, from time to time, with some of my complex chars if I want to keep them alive. I can't keep them all in my mind if I don't have a lead...and as Rebma says, re-read logs is so funny

I try to role play things in sleepy places just to wake people up. If people see stuff going on they can comment or at least know that I'm awake. So I mainly use it as a "Hey, I'm awake if you want to play." button. lol
