I'd rather they disappear inside than have to watch their sickeningly over-the-top flirting in the middle of town.
I'm sure my chars are guilty of both, though.

I overheard some pretty intense making out the other day

I've actually gotten to where I don't mind whispers. Yes, I consider it bad RP to make out or perform any actions that can't be passed off as 'subtle' in whispers. But at least it's possible now to turn off notifications for whispers. Two people can whisper all they like and when someone finally does speak up, I check events and don't mind the whisper wall. That's far better than my char lighting up just to see Bob smirk and wink at Jill for the tenth time in an hour.

Agree as usual. Guilty of all, too, but I don't mind whispers at all now that the notifications are off for all my chars. Plus, overhearing is just fun... I know there are people that don't engage in that side at all and get offended by it, but if you do, you can always report the little f%&kers for it?

For me it's exactly that: subtle actions in the whispers are just them trying to get away with stuff in public so I don't really have a problem...

Not to mention the public shaming afterwards when they're found out.

Oh, it's fun to overhear whispers. Except I usually get the ones that are "Bob whispers: OK." and that's it. Nothing juicy or even interesting.

Ha, yea that's all I get too... I might even have an exhibitionist that probably gives out loads of potential entertainment.. you would have thought some people would return the favor?...

Some people seem to hear all sorts of juicy stuff...

My character once made a comment about Naedell in a whisper while the Blackrocks were in town, and I think everyone overheard it... the aftermath was very interesting, to say the least.

No no, Naedell didn't kill her. But she was afraid for her life.

Long ago one of my newspawns said something bad about the Stone Knights she thought had left. They hadn't.

Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
I a classic case of accidentally speaking out loud instead of whispering, one of my old characters publicly expressed her plan to wait until the town leader died to grab all the keys, loot the town and run. She died.
In a classic case of irony, had she not messed up and proceeded with her plan, said leader lasted long enough that had she picked up the keys up after living there so long a time, she'd likely have been given leadership of the town.

Re: Things that annoy or puzzle you about Cantr
It's weird, looking back at an nearly-ten-year-old turn report of the scariest day of any of my characters' lives, which was about two weeks after I started playing, especially at what was said and done by the character who at the time made it scary, and wondering why on earth I found her so frightening and convincing. At the time I thought she had a really skillfully manipulative way with words, but I really don't see it any more :/ My thoughts are now more in line with those of another of my characters, who only heard about the events on the radio and thought everyone involved was being very childish.

Surely you could post what it was? If it happened ten years ago then it's not affected by the 4 day rule.
