What would you like to see in the Cantr Webzine?
Related topic: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=24592
Now, the old Webzine is gone (waybackmachine has a lot of it archived). There's been a fair amount of interest in remaking it, though how that will be done is still up for discussion in the topic linked above. I'm interested in knowing what people would like to see in the Webzine so that whoever ends up restarting it (I'm not sure if I want any big part in it yet) knows what has to be done.
The old webzine had comics, stories of characters, Cantr fiction, songs and poetry, town histories and occasionally an interview with an in-game character. There were also statistics, though the topic has replaced that function. The webzine could still feature statistics from that topic in an easier-to-read format. Oh there were also crosswords and other puzzles, as well as staff interviews.
Use this topic to suggest anything you'd like to see in the Webzine, and check out the topic linked above to give your opinion about the exact format in which the new Webzine will exist. In addition, a poll to measure interest in writing for the Webzine.

I want Seko's comic back!
I know we have a lot of talented artists playing, though. Maybe there could be another section to feature an image by a different artist (anonymously if they prefer) each issue.
The "interview with a character" thing was pretty neat, too.

Re: What would you like to see in the Cantr Webzine?
Obituaries would be nice. Also it was nice once when there was the day in the life project, where everybody got to write about a certain day. I think nothing interesting happened to any of my characters that day, so I didn't participate. I think it said it was a one time deal, but I think it would be cool to repeat it.
My problem with the webzine was that I hardly read most of it. I was mostly interested in the comic I was drawing, but the problem was that it was making references to things that happened in the 1800s or so, and now it's 4300s, so a lot has changed. It would be possible to reference major changes in the mechanics and have one of the characters look forever young (was the guy's name Matt? not sure) while the other one would age like a normal human. She would be like 145 by now if she spawned in the 1800s.

I put yes, regularly, to motivate myself..
I think it'd it nice for Doug's story Cantria to go in the webzine.
And statistics as well. That was one of my favorite things about the webzine. The statistics forum thread is way too long and unorganized.

On a side note, does anyone hold the "rights" to any of the old Webzine stories? I think the first priority for the new Webzine would be to repost the old content.

I wouldn't mind my stuff being reposted. Some of the comics are still on the server (possibly even more of them but most likely in a different folder).

I wasn't around the game back in the Webzine days, but I read those comics and they seem just as true today... so funny. Thanks for posting them!

Very nice comic. Though they kept getting smaller and smaller. It was difficult to read the last couple. i had to change the zoom on my screen, which is already larger than normal because I have difficulty reading most text. Maybe it's a sign I need glasses.

The lay-out is just one of the basic ones, it has to be changed to fit the Cantr theme.
EDIT: If you have wordpress experience and would like to help me set up what I have in mind, let me know. Currently I want to have a front page with three columns with a small thumbnail image, the title of the post and nothing else, so it is easy to scroll through the front page and click on the post you want to view.

Also, I would like to see a fashion section. Maybe people, or tailors, could send in pictures of their work and the top three-five could be chosen to be show cased with who designed it, what town they are from, the materials used and the things changed to make it unique or whatever. And it could be with clothes, shoes or jewelry. Or maybe even combinations as well. And then it could also serve as a muse for other people as well. I've been creating images of some of the clothing I have been doing and recently finished up a picture of a kimono I really love. I would love to see if other people do this as well, just for a visual before or while creating their pieces of art as well.

Perhaps some the images could be used on Cantr's wiki for those clothing items as well. There are still many on the wiki lacking a picture.

That sounds like a great idea. I could send you the picture I have of the silk kimono I made since there isn't one in the wiki. Or I could post it here I suppose. I'm not sure who is over the wiki.

EchoMan's over the wiki, but I can put it on there if you post it here or send it to me.
Edit: Sorry I'm getting the thread off topic..submitting pictures of Cantr clothes for the webzine is a good idea though.

While you are talking about images, I think text-based descriptions of custom clothing as well as other custom-made items would make for a really fun read. We can't possibly see all the custom items in the world, so a sort of contest or "My favorite item" type of post could be fun.
