That moment when a friend you haven't been with in a long, long time sends you an anthropology book pretty hard to find from two of your favourite authors and gets it signed by them so you -have- to accept it because he knows you have issues with accepting gifts... You feel grateful and cared for... To compensate, the next moment you feel your usual stupid self again for falling and managing to get two sprains in the same ankle and screw a wrist. And it even wasn't a particularly hilarious fall!

One of these days I'll start to believe in luck or in something. If things keep going the way they're going lately, I'll consider throwing myself downstairs to see if that grants me a place in a summer course in Madrid that I'm applying to.

Cantr is sort of annoying me, even though not much is happening. Actually maybe that's why, it's again slow because of the weekend.

Today for me has been nothing short of incredible. There was an hour period where I always had white characters. Sorry none of mine are around yours. Probably the busiest Cantr weekend day of my entire Cantr life.

My dad had a heart attack this morning. They're still running tests to see how bad it is. They put a stint in the right artery and said it was completely blocked. The left had stints already from his first heart attack a couple years back. But they said those are 15% blocked as well. Later this week they will be reopening those as well. I've been at the ER for hours, I'm exhausted and going to bed so if my characters are quiet, my apologies. I need sleep and then will probably be back up at the hospital in a few hours.

Well it seems we "misheard" the doctor ...though I'm pretty damn sure it was him who mispoke and not all six of us mishearing. But Dad's left side was 15% clear...which means that his right side of his heart was 100% blocked, and the left where he previously had stints was 85% blocked, which is much worse than what we were told. He is definitely not out of the woods yet, but is stable for the moment. They're talking about sometime around friday going in to reopen the stints that were previously put in 4 years ago.

My prayers are with you and your family.. Stents are pretty much a routine surgery now days.. so their ability to preform the surgery has greatly increased.. the fact that they are waiting until Friday is also a promising thing. (I know it is serious, but I do have faith in our medicinal procedures)

This has been just an all around bad week. Dad's heart attack and hospitalization, medical insurance getting screwed up for him with the hospital and which hospital could take the insurance (he had to be moved to the other hospital) and some serious family issues besides that has had everyone on edge. I am exhausted. I've lived at the hospital after work every day...and we're still waiting on Friday for my dad's heart procedure.

I've realized that I haven't even been missing cantr. The problem is I don't know if it's because I just don't have the care for it like I used to or if I've just been too damn busy and worried about other things to miss it.

*big hugs* I hope your dad pulls through alright, and everything else irons out for you. I would assume you're not missing Cantr so much because your mind and energies are elsewhere, as they should be. And perhaps with the game being down, you know there is nothing that you are missing. Once your dad is on the mend, and the game is back up, I hope you're able to find your way back.

On another note, since I can't tell other charries in the game, just thought I'd put it here that I'm heading out of town for a convention in a couple of hours (probably right when the game comes back up). I might be able to check my chars a little bit in the next four days, but I won't be really playing them. Home for a day, then two 12 hour day shifts, so they'll all be pretty sleepy for the next week.

I don't know how I could stay in character with any of my characters right now, too pissed off in real life. And after such a long break, it takes a while to start caring again. I wonder how many people are not coming back.
