Happy New Year!

It's the hottest night for many years here, with a heat wave continuing for a few more days. So I decided to make Mojitos for us. I assembled them with lime, ice, sugar syrup, rum and soda but unfortunately the green stuff i grabbed from the fridge on my way out the door was not mint, but basil, bought for a pasta meal. Sadly we were a third of the way through the drink before I noticed (no one else had), Happy Bojito? Or is that Mojbas?

On a rant, good parents that we are, in the interests of a well rounded education, my son has a drum kit for christmas! Now if I can remember where the ear plugs are?

:) We got our son a digital drum kit for Christmas. It has a volume control, and we can unplug it! :)

Yes, we looked at them. But apparently they are not as good for learning and the practising he will need to do most days. I was very tempted to get them instead. Both types are listed at good prices on our local second hand website. So we may get him electronic as well.

Starting out 2013 in a really bad friggin mood, which puts all my characters in bad moods. Way to start the year out on the wrong foot.

Just found out that John Hopkins University's application deadline was yesterday (as in 23:59:59 EST 1 January 2013). I thought it was the 5th. Dx
Darnn, I wanted to apply there, too.
I know I should've applied way earlier, but...eh...you know.
Well, there's still UPenn and possibly Duke. Or I'll try to transfer in my sophomore year or something.
