Re: Grammar issue?
This has always confused me. Surely, in order to have a pair of trousers, there must have been two singulars of that type, right? Why do I never see anyone making a trouser, to join to their existing trouser, in order to make a pair of trousers?
Perhaps you have the answer?
Perhaps you have the answer?
3431-5.19: You novicely kill a badger using a bare fist.
4037-4.03: You expertly kill an elephant using a crumbling bone spear.

Re: Grammar issue?
Quick Google search for the curious came up with this: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/502/why-do-we-say-a-pair-of-pants-when-theres-only-one-of-them
I prefer EchoMan's version as a 'pair of' trousers would sound better than simply 'sewing trousers'. This is just my opinion though.
Maybe it would be a good idea to have a sticky regarding noticed misspellings and/or grammar issues?

I made this sticky and changed the title a bit.

Re: Spelling, grammar and language issues.
"Your" is possessive. What you talk about would have been spelled "You're" or "You are" which it is not. The error here is the "a".
Also, "crumbling" is not vecessary, and should be removed. Anything that crumbles to dust has a crumbling state.

Re: Spelling, grammar and language issues.
This one is incorrect now with the implemented Near Death State. When you hit someone and they reach 100% damage,it still says: "You kill so and so with a (weapon)." Now they aren't dead yet because you have to finish them off. Shouldn't it say something like, "You mortally wound so and so with a (weapon)." ?

Re: Spelling, grammar and language issues.
It came from the laziness of having separate tags for the state name and the capitalized version.

http://php.net/manual/en/function.ucfirst.php
Code: Select all
string ucfirst ( string $str )
Returns a string with the first character of str capitalized, if that character is alphabetic.

Why don't we use that for the build menu as well? It would make it look better.
