You should have said, even poison in very low quantities is good for you because it will cause you to be immune to it the next time in slightly larger quantities!

Yeah, I don't think even that is true. Aren't there snake venoms that actually make you MORE vulnerable to future exposure to it? Probably need to moderate even statements of the virtues of moderation. :P

It should probably be stated that "most things are fine in moderation", but that doesn't sound as good on a bumper sticker.

What does any of this have to do with thinking about quitting?
Are we to assume that a 'moderate' amount of off topic chatter is good too?

While I am whining though...
1. the term "very small quantities" doesn't equate with "moderate".
2. I don't think ANYTHING is truly good for a person.

One should probably keep moderated the things they keep in moderation.

This past week is the first time in a long time that I've gotten as emotionally invested and pissed off about a game event enough that I just don't want to bother with it anymore. I'd had three characters in my long list keeping me playing, that list has now since the event dropped to two and even one of those is becoming harder for me to bother with. I have tried so hard to not let it bother me, but after this last week, I've been pretty irritated and discouraged enough to consider the X once again. That other character joins the likely to be killed off list and we will see what the next week brings. Maybe it will look better. I think some of you will die of shock the day I actually do hit that x and one of them drops.

And in doing so, cause untold amounts of emotional pain to those characters who must bear witness to the deaths of those they care about.

Oh, and if you couldn't tell, that's a sad face, with tears.

sorry Oasis, just had to vent. It's just how events happened, but I was / am rather upset about it all. Things have just made mine real hard to play lately too. At least I'm not the type to just rage quit :p I'll give it some time and we'll see how things go.

And CDLS, stop with the guilt! lol Shame on you.

How so? What happened between ours wasn't OOC generated, in fact, if OOC influence had been used, it would have gone completely differently.

I don't mean to start an argument here. We had different points of view at the time, and I suppose they haven't changed. But that was a long time ago.

I guess I'm just tired of all this ooc influence getting to me in one way or another, even when I don't put myself into it and I try so hard to avoid it. It's spreading fast, and widely, and ruining the game. It's a poor way to do things, both for the influencing and the influenced (and just for the record, this last part is in general, not directed to you).

But this is just the way things are. I suppose that when I can't take it anymore, I'll just disappear. Don't expect an announcement when that happens, though.
