I don't think I've seen hearts on anything.. and I've looked through the entire creature list here a number of times. Do you have to have raw (or prepared) food of a kind the animal likes for it to offer?

I'm not aware of anything that would make tameable animals appear more often. You'll just have to be patient and check the list from time to time till one shows up.

I wasn't referring to something to make them appear more often.. I had just wondered if you needed to have food in-hand or inventory for the option to tame to appear. I'm guessing that's not the case then.

I'm guessing the heart that was mentioned would be an icon next to the magnifying glass symbol? A button to click to try taming? :) I haven't seen one yet, so I wanted to be sure of what to look for.

there are some things that will attract certain animals and such, but the chance of them being tameable is random. And yes, it's a heart icon in the box, you'll know it when you see it.

My current mystery now is how to make bone meal. I've made several tools: hammer, chisel, rolling pin, wood shaft, knife, even a saw.. but none of these seem to be the tool needed for it.

I think you need a pestle for that.

Hmn. That isn't on the list I can make unfortunately, not even with an x for lacking tool. So we must not have whatever resource its made from.

I believe you can make one of clay... Or some stone maybe?

I'll have to figure out where to forage those. I know we don't have much of those here in our jungle camp.

Most likely not, no... Do you know about the FTO irc? It's unofficial, of course, but a lot of people there that could help you as well.

It's on the newnet server.

Irc.newnet.net:6667 #fto

Or go to mibbit.com/chat, if you don't have a client. Click server, enter irc.newnet.net and enter #fto as the channel

Aha! I have discovered a requirement for Taming... you have to be at least 5 years old. That's why I couldn't see the hearts before now. The option to attack appeared at the same time so.. it makes me a little nervous. :) I'm worried that if you fail to tame something then it might attack you. That's why I chose to try taming the otter that's here, instead of the crocodile... :) I don't want to be lunch.

So I successfully tamed an otter. There don't seem to be a lot of options of things to do with it though. The 'training' button only allows me to tell it to follow or stay. I'm going to assume if you get into a fight it will help...?

I did notice that all the other taming hearts disappeared. I'm guessing you can only have one pet at a time. I wish you could give it a name though, or that it moved from the area creatures list to its own box. I don't know if anyone else can tell it from any other otter on the list.

You can definitely have more than one at a time unless they changed something. My character had four at one point.
