Old age

Postby swampthing_bob » Fri Jul 18, 2003 9:32 am

I think old age should account for how much you can dig because ussaully you dont see a fourty year old doing as much work as a twenty year old, :D but there are some cases when that is not true. I also want to know if a person can die from old age.

I don't know about dying, no one has lived that long yet.

I think that the amount you are able to dig being slowly reduced the older you get is a good idea. Perhaps it should kick in when you reach 30, but very slowly, so you only stat to notice the effects when you reach say 45 - 50 years old

That certainly would be interesting, it could spawn a whole new industry looking after old people doing their chores, old peoples homes the possibilities to take some sort of payments from them are endless.....but of course its helping that counts really

i think it would be good but only if self development is implemented too. since realistically there are some older people (even in 70's) who are in better shape than any 20 year old because of how they developed themselves. also in some places people live easily over 100 depending on how you develope yourself.

I think there are quite enough limiting changes in the game right now, without adding age to it.Old age is one of the things I'd like this game never to enounter,Ever. It's onr of the things irl that make people dread waking up the next day, some people really do because they are aging. They are feeble, and it doesn't do wonders for mental well being.Old age would certainly make me not want to have so many experienced and old characters,it would become a burden and a nuisance. With which case it would be easier to find an apprentice or heir and leave everything to them, then kill the old characters to start anew.

it's true most work sites i've worked on the fourty year old blokes do twice as much work as the twenty year old guy's cause they don't have mobile's ringing every five minutes or stopping to answer text messages.but mostly they work faster becaus they've been there done that and know all the trick's so i agree a 40 something char should dig faster then a 20 something char

Well I know there is a small percent like 1% of females in the USA who live to be 100 and 0% males who live to be 100. I don't know why that is, but I doubt it is easily. I think he meant there are a few people who live to 100.

Just FYI and I was quite surprised to learn this.

USA females born 2000 or after on average will live to be 100.

Think of what the upper 1% will be then.

Canadians are almost the same, but slowly falling. One of every 1000 - 3000 people aged over 100 years, but that's falling due to lack of doctors and nurses in Canada. Even with free health care, those damn Americans pay more than us!

Yes emphasis on the word USA. Not Canada or Japan, and about Japan they live so long because they actually take care of themselves and yes the immense amount of doctors.
