"ERROR: You are not allowed to view events of other players!
I'm getting this error an awful lot.
It's not actually interfering with the game play, although sometimes it must appear before my posts to the game are complete, as they are often missing after I get it.
It's annoying, and I have to double check everything.
What can I do... if anything.
Note: I used to use Safari exclusively to play Cantr, but have recently started using Firefox. There is an association between using this now and the increase in these errors. I guess I could go back? I do, however tend to use different browsers for different online activities.

Can we put some kind of debug tracker on curious' account? We really need to nail this one down, and if curious has the issue a lot, it might be a good account to track it down on.

I think it would be hard on the game to start some logging of all activities (it would be huge and slow everything down). It would be perfect if we could find an account like this on the test environment. We do have a couple of ideas to check though.
In worst case create a new account and have PD transfer your characters to the new account, and see if things get better. Sorry but that's all I can do short term.

I also get this a lot. I assumed it was because I'm playing from a ps3 console. Cantr graphics are great on a 32 inch screen.
I'm on here about 12 hours a day. During that time it happens about 4-5 times.
It kicks me back to the character list. That's the pinnacle of its existence.

Made me laugh.
Well, lets see if we can fix some of the errors we see in the logs. Hopefully it's one of them. If not it could take some time to pin this one down.

I get this, more on one computer than the other, I cannot say this has happened every time, but I seem to notice, when I 'enter' an action, it seems to co ordinate if another action happens at the same time.. (with either the one I am on, or a different one all together. ) May just be a fluke, but I will try to pay more attention.

It would be very valuable for us if you can notice the next time it happens, exactly on what you clicked etc. That would help us find the problem.

I don't know if it's related, but I can't remember having had any of those type of error messages since I started using google chrome. What type of browser do you use Curious?

I think it could be Firefox related. I usually use this browser, and get that message a lot, I just got used to it as a part of the game (and I copy every post in the game before I send it as a rule since it usually happens when hitting the "talk" button). When I used Safari, I didn't get that error message.
Edit: yeah, I have it happening when renaming chars too. I didn't remember that.

I'm using Firefox and had it happen maybe twice today, which surprised me. I don't usually encounter that error much.
Once was when trying to name another char and I think the other was changing sailing direction, but I could be wrong on that.

I get this error most often when I'm trying to name a character. It happens sometimes when I'm trying to have a character say something, but is less noticeable because the character still speaks. If it happens during naming, the name doesn't stick.

Re: "ERROR: You are not allowed to view events of other players!
I get this message sometimes when I've used the browser back button for whatever reason, regardless of what browser I'm on. After that, no matter what character I click, it takes me to the one I was viewing previously when the error occurred, and then I can click the game back button and everything's fine again.
When it's from doing normal stuff, though, it doesn't happen to me at all on Chrome, but will on Firefox (3.something is what I'm using) and Safari (or whatever browser Droid Motorola uses). I can't say anything about IE because I hate IE and avoid it like the plague.

OK. Just got it at 3423-0.22 game time when trying to post out loud. My char's words did get posted but I got kicked to the char list screen. I'm guessing it had to do with timing of the event refresh.

Re: "ERROR: You are not allowed to view events of other players!
I get an error often when trying to post an event at the event refresh, and also when trying to name someone, but it's not this error. Perhaps it's because I'm on the GAB and have access privs? If my error and your error are the same, and I get a different message, maybe that would help pin it down. I'll post here the next time it happens for me.
Has anyone gotten it when attacking another character? I sometimes pop into the character that I hit (but only because I'm GAB and have access to do that - I assume were I not, I'd get this error message).

I've never had it happen to me (that I can recall) when trying to attack someone, though I now know why my characters sometimes don't light up after yours have attacked them, Doug.
I /have/ however been randomly switched with another player, usually Polish. Like, when I F5 the page on my own account (maybe I got distracted and meanwhile CantrSpy was at 8 so it wouldn't show me names), it has reloaded as another player's player page with their characters, their day reports, messages, settings, everything. I always log out and re-login as myself, of course. This has happened to me twice since I started playing, once on mobile and once on my laptop using Firefox. I know this has to do with session numbers and whatnot, but I still wonder whether this could this be related at all.
