Death and Denial
I logged into one of my characters and I see the events page saying someone handed me an item, then another, and another... I scrolled down slowly and recognized some of the items and I said out loud, "no, no... that cant be right"... I scrolled further and further, seeing more things handed to me, then a key... and I said out loud, "She cant be dead".. I scrolled further down and I saw the event post "Your wife Died". I looked at the body and saw her heart gave out and still couldn't believe it.
The five stages of grief according to one theory are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
I definitely did the denial... didn't really get angry or try to bargain.... I'm in depression right now and acceptance will come when it comes.

Re: Death and Denial
Recently one of my character's wife is killed in front of his eyes. They were a young and happy couple and have been together more than ten years. I keep telling myself: "this is not real life, you are not the one who needs to be depressed. Just play your character as he is depressed!"
Lots of characters are dying around my characters nowadays. Seems like very few people cares about it. If this game should simulate the life, shouldn't be death taken more serious? Why are characters killing each other so easily? Would they kill people around them if they would be allowed to carry a long sword or a recurved bow in their real lives?

Re: Death and Denial
One of my characters was recently kidnapped, and despite pleading to be killed, was not. Another of my characters also has a rapist locked up in jail for the rest of his life (and that character is still active, believe it or not). So, not everyone is bloodthirsty, it's just the bloodthirsty ones that get a reputation.

Re: Death and Denial
I'm about to quit playing to be honest. Been playing this game for a couple of years now and it's been fun, but there's just so little activity going on. I'm wondering if maybe I'll change my mind though, so I'm just going to let my chars die out on their own and see if I have a change of heart.

Re: Death and Denial
Well, the rapist mine has locked up, I do give him some RP every so often, but that's punctuated by long stretches of forgetting about him. So, at best, good roleplay episodes would be far between.

Re: Death and Denial
About a year ago, my character was forced to kill her fiancé in order to survive. At first she had nothing but survival instinct in mind, then when she finally made it home barely alive, she became angry and depressed, but eventually realized she was stupidly letting her depression drag everyone down, and progressed to acceptance.
As for kidnappings....actually, I don't really feel like talking about the pantry incident right now, because CantrSpy just lit up. lol

Re: Death and Denial
I guess my post was a bit of an OOC and IC mess. I, as a player, was like... Oh, no.... And scrolled down not believing what I was seeing, knowing what was coming next but hoping there was some other crazy explanation.
The character is depressed and going through the grieving process. I, myself, couldn't believe it, am a little disappointed, but other than that, I'm great.

Re: Death and Denial
Recently one of my chars been killed with some other without any clear reasons, just kidnapped and killed i also noticed some strange deaths around and they seemed odd to me.I even thought that one of them was accident because that char was not looking like going to die.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.
