Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Think I'm starting to be bothered with work. Mostly it's just that I HAVE to do these things when, really, I shouldn't have to. If people would stop being so bloody lazy and doing their job, I wouldn't have to be spending so much time there. It's kind of ridiculous!
Don't get me wrong, all the damn hours I've been there really have brought me a few perks, but it's not worth it if I don't have time for school. I have a test tomorrow and haven't really had time to study because I spend every waking moment in school or at work. I come home to sleep. Feh.
It's okay, though, kinda. Anytime I start to get frustrated/pissed off, I look at my bank balance, take a deep breath, and remind myself that I'm a greedy SOB and it makes it all better.
Downside: I'm having withdrawals from games, and it's fracking ridiculous! To the point where I'm making an honest effort to get into Cantr but it's no substitute for my console gaming addiction :\ Think I need to give up sleep to fit gaming in. Need to play Arkham Asylum before Arkham City drops. Life's hard, guys.

After a ten-second Google search, I'm going to guess it's because of the 613 commandments.

Ding! ding! ding! Congrats.
Now, as to everyone who interacts with my characters -- Sorry for the lack of activity. A confluence of events prevented me from being on -- torrential rain coming into my house, the aformentioned yard work (still continuing),major project at work (with concomitant boss over my shoulder practically 8 hours/day), issues with my ailing father (and the concoimitant issues with my step-siblings), kids starting school (all but the oldest starting at new schools, and three different schools at that), with one going to a school a half hour bus ride away. It's new for everyone coming from here, so there's still kinks working out the bus schedule (they've been getting there late, arriving home late, plus he's in a play), and two of those school insist on sending on a ton of email (currently 7 days behind on my email because of all the above, reading of which has become a higher priority than cantr).
So, again, while I'll try to be more active, believe me, it's not because I've lost interest in the game (And gad! One of my chars became the closest to starving that they've ever come). Once this project at work sorts out, I should be more active.

I'm too tired to be productive today. Also, a bagel would be really nice right now.

Man, I could so go for a bagel. Or a soft pretzel. Or flatbread of some sort. Basically, any kind of bread would be nifty. It's been almost a year since I had to quit eating it (I can't even have breakfast tacos anymore! Do you know how hard it is to live in Texas and not eat things wrapped in tortillas? xD).
Thought: I spoke to my father on my birthday for the first time in ten years, so that was vaguely awkward. He kept calling me baby and sweetheart and I avoided calling him anything, but I just babbled on and on and was generally nice (I kind of don't have any other setting. Even if I want to be a dick to someone, I just fail) and he promised me money. I won't hold my breath, but it'll be a nice surprise if it happens. Of course, he called later at midnight-thirty and I didn't answer (who calls someone that late? I am old and was in bed), so he might pitch a fit and fall off the face of the earth for another decade. I honestly don't care at this point, but I could really use a hundred bucks.
Rant: Domestic things!
And I've been foiled once again by my school's stupid new student information system, but I did at least find out that the graduation application deadline is in October, so I can stop hyperventilating about that.
I should go study, but I'm going to play Minecraft instead!

I used to have more than fifty dollars in my purse. Now, after two BK trips, churros from Tijuana Flats, and paying a fee to take an exam, I'm down to eleven. So much for readily available emergency cash stash.

Bagel sounds like a good idea. Be back in twenty minutes.
Back still hurting after continuing yard work. Didn't even have time for a shower last night. Woke up at 2AM in pain and fell asleep on the couch around 4:30 just to be awakened again at 6 by my son to take him to school.

Carbing up before hitting the Big Four concert today. Indigo, the only thing missing is you. I'll keep you there in spirit (but I'm not drinking that weird cola/wine stuff). Here's some devil horns

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Yard work -- the saga continues -- Well, last night I dragged literally 56 garbage bags full of yard waste to the curb, plus a bundle of sticks for pickup today (and I hope they do), and I STILL NOT DONE!!! (Of course, some of those bags now contain more "swamp" than yard waste, since they were filled pre-five-day-period-of-torrential rain) Still have to do about 2/3 of the right side of the house, (mostly thistles, so it has to be done manually by shovel to get up the roots), remove some weeds against the back fence that I missed, mow 1/2 of the backyard, the two sides of the house, the alleyway, and might as well touch up the front yard again, since it has started to get a bit wild again since kid #2 mowed it 10 days ago.
Can't I just pave over the whole thing???

An evil grin is missing in that pic, Doug
You know how I wish I were there. So you have the -duty- of enjoying it for me too. And I will listen to them in the iPod while drinking some kalimotxo for the two of us
Enjoy it!

Interesting day at school today....between the unofficial lockdown, the seizing kid, the helicopter, Tri-M results, and the local news crew outside my classroom....

So why a helicopter and a news crew?

I still don't know. I haven't found anything on Google (which would show me if it were on the school's website) although I did find a previous news thing where a kid was arrested for sexually molesting another kid on the bus sometime in March. Anyway, I imagine today'll be on the news at some point this week.
I want to know what the 'lockdown' was all about. (It wasn't actually a lockdown, just the people going on the intercom during 3rd lunch saying people are not to be outside or moving around or anything.) Some say it was because of the kid who was having a seizure (which makes no sense to me because kids have had seizures before and ambulances have come and not caused a commotion), others say somebody was stabbed. One rumor says somebody committed suicide in one of the boys' bathrooms. Another says there was a trespasser on campus. I'm going to ask administration about it tomorrow.

So, I just found out why the news crew and the helicopter. It's because our school is getting a new central A/C unit.
