Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
As mentioned, we lost cable with the hurricane, which means TV, internet, and phone. When I got home from work last night, it wasn't until the phone rang that I said, "oh! Cable's back!" The fact that my daughter had been playing on Club Penguin, and my 11yo was watching "iCarly" when I walked in, for the previous 15 minutes, hadn't registered....

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I can't even put into words how much I lovelovelove being back in school. My cognitive processes professor began class with the suggestion that we sacrifice a meteorologist and later said, "Well, Doc, it kinda looks like a group of underaged women handing out free amphetamines!
NO! Tell them it looks like a BAT! They will think you are BORING and uncreative, but you won't be detained! A BAT!" My adulthood and aging professor told us that men started birthing children after WWII and that Elvis was sexy and my history and theory professor ended our first class with "I had to get some sex in here! We haven't had any sex in this whole class, you must be getting bored." I had a minor heart attack about applying for graduation after speaking to a girl I don't even know. It is HOT and DISGUSTING. Sometimes I spend half an hour sitting on a cold tile floor in a narrow hallway because I'm weird about getting to class early. I'm working on an assignment for my online class right now that I find frustrating because it's too narrow and I'm about to go rant on the forums about it. I love it, I love it, I love it. I'm so excited for my classes (you guys, there's HISTORY in my psychology!) and being here just makes me smile and feel weirdly energized.
Also, I'm finally reading Dune!

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
My fingernails curve outward and away from my finger whenever I grow them long. The other day my friend was marveling at how long my nails were (I've been growing them because they're easier to clean than short nails), and I pointed this fact out to her on my pinky fingers, which had the longest nails at the time. (I broke them off this morning because they were getting too easy to bend.) She came into AP Stat today, sat behind me, and told me that the reason my nails do that is because I have an iron deficiency. I'm not anemic, so it's not much of one, but it's still an iron deficiency thing, and told me to take iron pills.
I have a hard time swallowing that.

My Mom passed away on my brother's 22nd birthday, so it would be hard to forget. (OF course, he's gone now, too, so....)
In Judaism, the anniversary of one's death (called in Yiddish "Yahrzeit" ("year's time")) is commerated more than a person's birthday (special prayers, a memorial candle, sharing momries/thoughts/feelings about that person, etc. ). Being born represents only a potential. It's not until somone has passed away when you can truly measure all that they have done in this world, how big a hole they left behind, and how they have influenced all they have touched.
And as we say, Joshua, may her memory be for a blessing.
Thanks. Really I'm fine, but I felt like mentioning it somewhere (can't use facebook in this case), so I used Cantr forums.

Going outside and marching in the humidity and sun we had today should be illegal.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
First night off in 8 days.
Celebrating with a drink and homemade cookies graciously provided by the friend.
I'm also slightly insulted that I get carded for video games but not for alcohol...
Also, so damn sleepy. Need to sleep, eventually. For now, study. Have tests.
Also, I assume I'm drunk since I'm randomly considering graduate school once more, for no apparent reason

xD
Sorry!
And, I find comfort in the fact that I could never actually get into grad school, so no worry there

Sometimes I think about going to grad school because I seem to have this weird need to be in school. After spending all of my life going to school, I don't know how to just stop.

I consider grad school sometimes, maybe once a month, because I'm not ready to live in the real world yet.

ding!
That is true for me as well.
Though, technically speaking, I suppose I'm already in the real world, but I'm just not ready for that to be the only thing. I like school, really, just not really good at it.

I am planning (apparently) a three to four day road trip when the (ex) cantr player is back here for a week. I've never been on. This sort of trip. Its not gonna be that far of a trip, just between the lakes but still....
