Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
The idea to have a monster energy drink as I was leaving Disneyland seemed like a good idea at the time. Now that I am sitting at home, hyper as a squirrel on crack, and the only one awake it seems like the worst idea I ever had. At least I made it home safely. haha

gejyspa wrote:Personally, I'm not so very about this storm. I agree with Snick. I mean, it's a category one. Ho-hum. People who aren't used to them worry about earthquakes, hurricanes, blizzards, etc. a lot more than natives, having no frame of references. So far, it's been rain *yawn*. (That being said, one of my wife's internet friends who lives on the shore did just lose her house today, apparently).
Oh, yeah, wanted to append to Snickie there is also one other factor to consider about hurricanes up here as opposed to down there -- Whereas your flora (i.e. trees) have had a million+ years to evolve into a form that won't topple over in semi-monthly hurricanes, the ones up here have a tendency to shatter into toothpicks under the same conditions (And I thought of writing this before I found out that, indeed, the house mentioned above was destroyed by a tree falling on it).
My apologies to all who interact with my characters for being inactive for the past 32 hours or so. Although we never lost power, we did cable, so I had no internet access until coming into work this morning. Of course, for all I know, no one had access to cantr during that same time period, but I have no idea when it went down.

its sad when you have to get to know one of your sisters through facebook because she refuses to get together any other way. and that you only benefit from knowledge she posts for her friends because you just happen to be facebook friends.

So yeah... I've barely managed four hours of total sleep since I came from my vacation (that was last saturday). My insomnia seems determined to ***** with my mind again. I already am in that blurry cloud of weird thinking. Maybe I should try to do something constructive with it, like writing again, instead of being sucked by the destructive vortex of the less conventional methods.

Someone like Salvador Dali would envy that state, but they would also use it in the pursuit of 'the deconstructive'... or as he would perhaps believe... uncovering the 'real' beyond that which we can all readily see.

Hang in there, JM.
My Mom passed away on my brother's 22nd birthday, so it would be hard to forget. (OF course, he's gone now, too, so....)
In Judaism, the anniversary of one's death (called in Yiddish "Yahrzeit" ("year's time")) is commerated more than a person's birthday (special prayers, a memorial candle, sharing momries/thoughts/feelings about that person, etc. ). Being born represents only a potential. It's not until somone has passed away when you can truly measure all that they have done in this world, how big a hole they left behind, and how they have influenced all they have touched.
And as we say, Joshua, may her memory be for a blessing.
