They could rule the world!!! Test every newspawn for strength! If they are good enough- they shall live! If not- be it the axe for them!

That would be kinda cool except unless you were just a PKer who doesn't care anything about rp'ing, you'd end up facing a dilemma when you have people sounding like Rigel Kent spawning as very strong experts, yet you have the feeling that you probably shouldn't trust them because they're likely to go all Leeroy Jenkins on your operations and ruin everything, while you'd feel really bad about killing well-played but weak and clumsy characters. I was actually thinking about this the other day, and if I founded a town like that, I would keep the weak characters as slaves (at least the ones who are fit for the role) and also rank the strong experts by their rp'ing skills so that ones who sound like they're played by 13-year-olds would be limited to just assisting in dragging and I wouldn't give them any good weapons.

Unfortunately apparently characters in buildings and vehicles also count for spawning. That's rather silly, it means there's no way of preventing foreigners from breeding beyond killing them (or only allowing them in town - docked boats included) one at a time, which is difficult when you can only detect them if they start talking. If mating was required, towns could say that only experts and strong people were allowed to procreate but then people would pull the sex association.

Separate the town into two separate towns, then - and function like Sparta did. One town is full of the weak slaves, and is tasked with supplying the other town, which focuses on military, sport, etc. Strong stay in one area, weak in another. If you spawn, you are tested and assigned.

Does Cantr knows the difference between phenotype and genotype when creating a newspawn? :?:

The skills you had when you spawned are taken into account when calculating genes for newspawns, not the learned skills.

I was wondering about that. I was thinking that characters might have been gradually getting more skilled if the mechanics were taking improved skills into account. Of course that explains why I have so many characters awkward at fighting in very warrior-friendly locations.

I thought it was just my bad luck.

ah it's been a while since i sen this topic, it just lit up, and i posted a long time ago
you wanna talk about a spartan civillization and darwinism. i got 2 examples
Darwin, founded by Zeus Darwin was a fascist dominion... of one city, the weak were either executed or sent on out of town errands, and the astrong stuck around home getting stronger spawning more strong chars.. Zeus was my char
another example was Valeria, founded by Zjira Manuela Lenz, the weak were executed or exhiled, the strong were encouraged to move in. Zjira herself was a training fanatic and increased her drag strength by 10000 grams or so during her lifetime... Zjira was my char

they were both insanely fascist and not only dispised the weak, they also killed anyone non english (zeus mostly who referred to them as orcs)

that being said, please note i have and do have chars that are very friendly towards non english as well :P

back on topic though, yes there are 2 examples of in game societies that did exist with strength being the pinnacle of their development

I know of 2 places in the Spanish Zone strength based. One of them has expanded over the years growing non-stop in number of members and sites, and the other one keeps digging it's way down to hell

It's called eugenics, victor

btw, one of my chars looted Zeus' town without him even noticing, and another was part of the team that killed Zjira (pretty amusing name for polish-speakers, I assure you  ). It feels like it makes us alost a familly, doesn't it?
