Former roomie is here for the first time in maybe a month, so I am making her peanut butter cookies. I haven't done much baking since I was nine or ten, so I'm having fun. And the cookies are apparently edible, so I am excited! The oven is pissing me off, though. I made almost this exact recipe (I used more peanut butter this time) at my mother's a week or two ago and had no problems, but I've had nothing but difficulty in trying to find the right amount of time to leave them in.

Since I am currently without my laptop because the power cord stopped working, my dad decided to "alleviate some of the suffering" and pull out his old computer so I could play games.

Turns out I can't because XP is sloooowwww compared to Windows 7. And I can't connect to the Internet for the same reason (our broadband is too fast for it... O_o ). So now I'm limited to my phone until we can get to either RadioShack or Best Buy for a new power cord, andd meanwhile I'm waiting for the other computer to restart so I can try a different game. If not, then I'm thinking of getting out his even older computer and just playing HoM2.

this also makes no sense to me. The only thing I can think of is whatever router/modem etc they're plugging it in to is using a gig-E only port and the NIC on that box doesn't support it? But once again, that's a hardware issue and nothing to do with the OS itself because I know XP will support gig-E so... /boggle

Word! Today it was my turn. And I had to work for 12 hours.

Sleep depraved and over worked after 1 day back at work.

At least I have only one role at work now, so I won't burn out like I did this spring (I hope).
