If I have to select one thing I don't want reintroduced in Cantr it is mass-dragging by invincible forces OOC-ly being awake at the same time.

1) I think the effects of energy restoratives need to be tempered.
2) If all food goes to the same gut, then you'd have to choose between healing food and energy food. Do you want to attack six people, or be able to heal? I think that's definitely a valuable choice for a character to make, and would make using energy foods more dangerous, especially if their effects were tempered so you had to consume more.

I was thinking the same, if capacity is limited then people would be taking a risk using energy restoratives, because they would be lowering their healing capacity.

I think I've covered all the points of the original suggestion now (programming-wise). Although what it should include is making a passed out person either stop working on a project or change their contribution to 0, stop their participation to dragging and make them stop traveling if they're on foot or alone in a vehicle. Also being less than 100% drunk currently has no effects. I think in the beginning it could be left up to rp and effects could be introduced later.

Why not let drunkenness work the same way as tiredness? If you are 50% drunk, you work 50% slower.

If it's exactly the same as tiredness, we wouldn't need a drunkenness stat, we could just use tiredness. I think the effects should be on a character's judgement. For example, there should be a random chance, based on drunkenness %, of walking into the wrong building, down the wrong road, etc. Maybe whispering to the wrong person. Stuff like that.

I've been thinking the same. Since buildings have local numbers, it would make sense that while drunk, there was a chance of entering the building above or below the right one on the list.
Taking the wrong road, sure, cruel but it happens.
With whispering the wrong person, it would make sense if the wrong person being about the same age and of the same sex as the intended recipient would increase the chances of a mixup.

Other ideas I've thought of:

- accidentally resetting a sextant if trying to view coordinates while drunk
- accidentally speaking out loud instead of whispering, or alternatively increasing the chance of being overheard
- dropping things when intending to give them to someone
- dropping a weapon instead of or after attacking/hunting

But it would be nice if it was possible to have some positive outcome from being drunk, because if it's all negative, nobody would do it (except maybe threatening prisoners to drink as a means of making them easier to handle).

I would say removing sexual inhibitions but Cantrians don't seem to have a problem with that.

I like all the suggestions for random funny events, though. Maybe being drunk could increase strength (temporarily, of course).

Removal of inhibitions could result in a net increase in fighting skill and a net decrease in defense. Unfortunately, they're both the same at the moment, so it would need to be handled in a different way.

I also like Seko's possibilities.

I wholeheartedly endorse both Doug and Seko's suggestions for drunkenness. You could also randomly slur and add hiccups to the player's text, like WoW does/did (wouldn't know if they still do, don't play it any more).

When is this going to get accepted? As I mentioned earlier, I've written code that covers the points mentioned in the first post, is something else required before this can be implemented?

Question:
What does this do for people on vacation mode or those whose lives are too busy to check Cantr every day? Do their characters starve even though they might be carrying kilos upon kilos of salted meat?

I think automatic eating will still be in place with this system, Snickie.

If there's still automatic eating, though, then that would defeat the purpose of manual eating.

Also: Is purging only once a day, or whenever you click "submit" on the "eat ## grams" page?
