A ringworld is different since both rims don't connect. If both rims would extend upward and inward to meet over your heads, you would have the internal doughnut scenario. Of course you would have to install artifical gravity generators to have a walk around the world in starbord-port direction (or you would have to brachiate in the inward facing section).

Yeah, probably the duct tape used to connect both sides of the map.

Fortunately there's wikipedia, so I'm able to get that reference without the embarrassment of having to ask.

[19:46] <Snakebyte> So, what's in the middle? A middle that isn't there?

[19:46] <Piscator> well, yes

[19:48] <Snakebyte> so it's an empty space that doesn't exist... *nodding* Is there a purpose to it at all? Progamming even?

As an aside, I was playing Oblivion two days ago and managed to fall through the entire map, and end up on the plane of water underneath. I could look up and see the tree roots above me, and the towns. It was a kick ass way to get rid of the minotaurs chasing me at the time. :P

Ha, that reminds me of the time(s) I used the acrobatics scroll (The one that +1000 your acrobatics) then jumped out of a building in Syda Neen and passed the wall that's in the water.

I couldn't get back and had to reload my game. :(

...and all the buildings where inside out. :O

Hehe. Awesome. :D

The cool thing is my buggy area remains, and I can enter/exit it at will. OH exploitable! :P
