Not letting PD kill off chars because it is an OOC reason, but killing them off yourself instead. That doesn't make sense.

The first causes a heart attack, the second starvation or lots of wounds. All three because of the player wanting to kill off the character. So if the last two are fine, the first should be as well.

No, it's the point that you as a player have gotten bored of the char so you take steps to remove the char with the char. If PD kill them off it's got nothing to do with the char or his/her behaviour, it's just outside interference and has nothing to do with anything IG.

There's no natural death in Cantr because heart attacks are unnatural, starvation is due to laziness or on purpose and violence is violence. It would be good if when a character gets to a certain age, they could choose to have a heart attack or a random chance of getting a heart attack. Some of my characters have occasionally had health problems but you know it's never going to lead into anything unless you go killing all of your characters or manage to convince someone in PD.

on topic. i have once had a character that i declared was " too much work " and PD deleted him. even though they obviously knew it meant i would just spawn another.

i see how it's a CRB, but i don't see any possible consequences resulting from it. PD wouldn't waste their time locking a persons account ( least likely course of action ) and sending them an email ( most likely course of action, if any ) just because they were sick of a toon and made a weak excuse to have them deleted.

Oh, I think if I wanted to kill some of my characters, I could move the ones I want to keep to some inactive account, then click the x, then set status back to active and move the characters back. (Not that I wanted to kill anyone, though.) Although it might have some unwanted consequences.
