OMG... Those who voted "No" must feel stupid now... Or at least not smarter as someone in 10-12th grader. (Umm... that's about how old)?

It should be about 16-19 Hunter, heh. Anyways yes you are learning things when you do things over and over again. When you learn you aren't just learning how to do something. You are learning how to do it efficently. I mean the first time I played Cantr I learned out how to play, but I didn't know how to play efficently. I am still learning currently and I am becoming better and more organized so yes you are learning no matter what you do.

Yeah, we live and learn. Especially from mistakes people say, which should make me about the smartest person in the world I'd say.

Anyway. What if this whole class would start playing? It'd be a situation like in the Dutch area, where a lot of ppl from the same school played... Some fishy things happened back then. :?

Never fear there is a plan to be worked out. The teachers are not going to allow any talk about Cantr in school. Also the school hasn't decided if they are going to let the students use the PC lab for the game or not, If they tell me that they will, I'll be communicating with Jos, so that the accounts of the students could be marked....Rule number one, if anyone breaks the Capital Rule, all the students will be removed from the game, also it's only for one class of students of about 9 or 10. so I don't think its going to be problem

Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

Lone Wolf wrote:So thanks to this thread, my former teacher is going to let me come to his class and show the kids the game and how it works, even to discuss the Capital Rule. Don't worry these "kids" are in grades 10 - 12. I don't think we need a bunch of 7 year olds fighting on Cantr. We got enough of that.

I think even 7 year olds could play but in a seperate instance of the game where foul language and other mature things are not allowed.

In fact a seperate environment could allow things to be manipulated to show certain points that are relevant to a class. So instead of a location being based on the characters that spawned there a structure could be imposed and the teacher could set the RP storyline and mointor it.

The game we all play together would remain as it is.

All that is up to whether Jos wants to deal with things like that.

My children are only 4 and 6 so there hasn't really been a point for me to suggest something like that.

If I every lost my job I was going to ask Jos if it is OK to seek a grant from the US Dept of Education to provide and environment like that. But for now I'm employeed thankfully.

I agree that a 7 year old could play the game too, and probably very well, most of the most mature chars I've met IG are played by people under 18.

But I don't think they should do that in a class room of 7 year olds because children like to get away with mischife (Esspecially little boys) there would me trouble.

For example

*Class is playing Cantr and all is peacefull in the game. They here the recess bell and go running off to plan there attacks. After recess they go back to Cantr. The nerds in the class gather to gether IG and kill all the school bulleys Chars. There is blood shed and the leader of it all is the boy who wets his pants, the second in command is that kid who eats worms and they are both in love with the girl who keeps lifting her dress*

Yes I get that I am mature quite a lot. Yet I avoid people in my school and I have been recognized for very little besides my smarts. Most people hate/avoid me in school because i am different than them. Yet when I get online people always expect me to be older than I actually am. People get the impression that I am 18 a lot of the time. Even when I was only 10 years old I got that.
