I'm afraid that my character, X, who is nearly 40, has enough food to last until 50 and is on a boat in the middle of literally no where.

Ha, I have a charrie who is 54, and she has enough food to feed her until she is 107. :)

Heh, but X had a friend aboard his boat for some time, until the friend died. If the friend hadn't of died, they'd both be dead now anyway.
