I agree with the idea. This would not only introduce the option to enslave people, but also to restrict actions of a criminal, which is very difficult now.
I believe there should be different kinds of shackles:
- durable iron manacles. Manufactured with a lock and a key. Could be broken with a file by the prisoner or another person or a sledghammer by another person only.
- ropes. Easily cut with any sharp tool or weapon by the prisoner or another person.
In addition to this, I believe there should be an option of searching the shackled person and take away his belongings, so it won't be so easy for him to escape once shackled or tied up, if he has relevant tools of escaping the bonds.
In general, the searching option would also reduce the number of killings and would allow such things as robberies, which would bring more variety and realism to the game. But perhaps this should be discussed in a separate topic.
