I hate these stupid asses that bring god into the game. It is not some Cantr god, but GOD. There is no GOD in Cantr. There could be a mushroom god or a god of fish, but no RL GOD.

It just really pisses me of when people bring RL GOD into Cantr. I say delete any player that brings RL GOD into Cantr.

well as to that, why can't there be an omnipotent god in Cantr as well? I mean, there have been all sorts of gods in RL, ranging from a single diety to a diety for every aspect of life. Why can't Cantr have the same range of freedom? Why can't RL god be Cantr god in the character's mind, so long as it isn't a god of a RL religion. If they create a legit religion in Cantr I see nothing wrong with having GOD.

I've seen so many Jesus-figures in game teaching what is 99% identical to the Judeo-Christian god.

It's not original. It's not good RP. It's annoying. Come up with your own god or gods. But have some sort of reason for it! Gods are invented to account for natural things that have no explanation. Not just because some guy wants to play Apostle in a digital Judea.

very true. in my one religion i have tried to start, i base my beliefs on the remarkable healing properties of certain resources and the activities of the wild animals. Having a prophet for the sake of having a prophet is meaningless. there has to be some fact behind the religion.

Yeah... though with my cases, I suppose they weren't really close to people. You just wish that someone would care but dunno if anyone really does. If it makes you feel any better, Kais is still missed by at least one person.


My rant, Java Eclipse. Is shit. Doesn't open a file if you don't put the name of the package before the name of the file, even though there's no such problem with console applications. But when it gets to using windows, it gives a red error due to this stupid reason and you waste two hours figuring out why it doesn't work.

Thing is, there's nowhere to mention them. Say my character was close to yours. First off, I don't know it's your character, so I can't send you a PM letting you know.

Secondly, you can't see the events in the town after they're gone, so you can't see my in-game reaction.

Thirdly, if I post in the "whose character are you?" thread for a character that meant something to me, but not to many others, it might make it pretty obvious which my character is, which may not be desirable.

Maybe there should be some way to message a player OOC after their death for this purpose.

It's not usually forgotten, just left in the back of our minds until the death of a char makes us remember it and bring it back up. Newer people wouldn't know about it unless it'd been brought back up again (or they searched). I can think of one to put in it now, but I think I'll wait awhile yet and give it more time.

And grr to all this work I can't seem to get caught up... stupid Christmas break... and constant stream of mail... *sigh* It'd be so easy to keep it up, if I could get it caught up. Time for some power working.

It's troublesome alright if you want to keep your characters secret, then you can't start asking after someone because it might reveal who you play.

And also the four day rule, even though someone's death might be shocking and touching, after four days you may have forgotten it already. Or at least the initial pain has faded.

There was also the Memorable dead topic but maybe the name is clumsy or something since they started the other one.

The difference between threads is explained at the beginning of the Gone but not Forgotten one.......to cover lesser known people who have died, memorable only to a very few. It took over to include anyone anyone missed, famous or not.

These people are clearly bringing in OOC god into Cantr.
I will say this. I am an atheist and a little OOC is in my characters. Who's characters don't.
You have these newspawns that come into the game and everything in their RL they put into the game. Like sex. Don't get me started on the public sex.
I remember not so long ago a NEW PLAYER had a character spawn in a town that I am in and said "what the F? This game Fing sucks"
Same thing as far as I am concerned.
