The bastard sword, broad sword, long sword, scimitar and claymore are all similar in construction, more expensive and more powerful compared to the sabre.

A Flail Staff using a stone weight on a leather cord attached to a pole would be good, arround longbow damage and complexity. This would allow places with little or no string making resources to develop non-steel weapons.

A steel and diamond shield, you'd think, would be less safe than an iron one. Good shields help absorb the blow; a steel and diamond one would just jar your arm severely.

Less safe, but more pretty! ceremonial Armor, anyone? For those formal ceremonies around the uppity-established towns?

Then maybe it should only block as much damage as the diamond encrusted sabre can do.

I would like to suggest the Leather apron as a form of a shield.

Image

Like make it out of 500 grams of leather
30 grams of sinew
and use a needle and scissors

Yep, and we all know why you added that picture, and it wasn't for a visual

Anyway, I have to ask why you can't just add the protecting value of somthing to a piece of clothing? Is the cantr databass so screwd up that it cant have somthing do two things at a time?

You can not assign object attributes to clothing. Therefore there can be no clothing machines, clothing shield, or clothing weapons. You might be able to make a clothing gathering tool, or project tool (as long as you are not wearing it) since that is defined from the resource side, and project side respectively.

How about this.

You add another "incogneto" object on top of the chain mail or whatever. And when you press the wear button, that is the object that is worn, but the other Non Incogneto object isn't worn.
