The time limit.
As we can see here, the time limit does more harm than good. It was originally intended to save bandwidth, but Cantr no longer faces the tremendous badwidth problems it had long ago. The time limit is now simply a useless relic.
The minutes normally reset around 3:30 AM EST. However, this recently has stopped working as it should, for one reason or another. Today, it is 10:17 AM as I type this, and I am down to my last ten minutes. There is nobody around to manually reset them, either. Am I to wait all day for this to happen? What if nobody comes on today? Is Cantr gone for the day, then?
For the above reasons, I suggest that the time limit be hereby abolished. Let me know what you think, and state any arguments you may have.

So, Solfius, you're relying on the time limit to make up for your own personal weakness? I don't feel like suffering just because you have no willpower.
Personally, I rarely use all my minutes for the day, although I am on almost constantly. The act of constantly refreshing pages and logging out and back in uses more bandwidth than slow, continuous play, I imagine. The only time the time limit bothers me is when the system breaks down and I have to make my remaining 10 minutes last for hours.
I'm pretty sure that the time limit is doing nothing, both because of the 'more pages requested' problem and because there are more players in Cantr than in the early days of the game, so overall it would cancel out. As far as I can see, the time limit is just one giant headache.

have you noticed that it takes longer and longer per turn to actually turn over? there's gotta be some way to fix this; used to be the turn switched over within 10 minutes of when it was supposed to; now it takes almost an hour, sometimes. Weird. It might be because of the sheer number of projects out there *cough*kwordeadpeople*cough*, but whatever the reason, it's kinda crazy. We need a Gregorian shift here.

I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

I equalled out the votes with a No it should not be abolished for the aforementioned reasons. But if I am too vote that we the player should suffer layovers on turns, that for me have lasted up to 1.5 hours, should be fixed to how it used to be. And also this is based on the hope that the clock failed to change.

Blarg. Well, my effort to clean up a forest and fight lag has eaten up almost all my minutes today, so if I have to deal with this whole "durrrrrrrr i think i won't reset the minutes" crap from the server tomorrow morning I'll pretty much be disgusted with cantr and assassinate you all for sucking kthx ^_^ SO FIX IT. ^^ Well, whoever's in charge.
And also...I don't use all my minutes in one day. I had to stretch my minutes over TWO days today, thank you very much. I really hate this system where other people get to decide what I do with my time just because the server is full of bugs.

Basically, my problem is with them keeping something in effect if it only works right part of the time and serves no purpose other than to 'save us from ourselves'
And I had around 80 minutes left over, but I had to use them mostly in the time it took for someone to find the problem and manually fix it. What if nobody had come on? People get sick. People go on vacation. It could have been another day, possibly a week if Murphy's law decided to come into full effect. And all this time, your chars would be starving if they didn't have a week's worth of food stockpiled.
