Dragging yourself a.k.a. "Going Quietly"
I am aware that you can currently drag yourself, and help other drag yourself, but I'm not sure of the effects.
I would think that dragging one's self would currently just add another draggin participant, but since that is a pretty good indication you're not putting up the struggle that is commonly associated with dragging, why wouldn't it just automatically shoot the project up so that the dragging finshes?
So, going quietly should just get you dragged where ever you're going, even if you are the only person dragging yourself.
This would also eliminate some activities I'd heard of that might even be abuse of the dragging feature.
Dragging yourself can be used defensivly. When you're expecting people to come and fight you, like TBR did before they got kicked off the K-isle, a person can start dragging themselves to a location that is locked, that they have the key to. Then, when the attackers arrive and have thier own locked prision they want to drag people off to murder in, they start to try dragging you, only to help you retreat to safety.
That sounds like it could loosely be justified as "standing gaurd" in game, but sounds a lot like an abuse of a game mechanic.
If dragging one's self was automatic, then the minute you started dragging yourself, you'd succeed and you couldn't use it defensively.
This a good idea or bad?

Well, I've seen this tactic reflect the idea that one is giving up the ability to work on projects and perform work in exchange for basically being on guard for anyone trying to grab them, like hanging out near the doorway to a building or vehicle and if they're grabbed or approached, they'll duck into their hiding place. If this option were removed, i'd want to see some form of programmed "guarding" or automated defense put in its place. Having both a way to submit and resist would be good options to allow characters more ways to react to violent acts, as well as the original submitting idea to help with "friendly" drags.

I believe Agar's idea is perfect! I noticed someone abusing that in my early Cantr days.
As for a guard position, already mentioned in the piracy combat suggestion, I also agree. But it shouldn't be an full proof solution. Someone in guard would be harder to drag, but still draggable. Let's say,... twice has hard to dragg.

I think that part should change, Allow multiple drags on each person, the one that gets to 100% first should win and cancel the other drags.
In my mind setting a drag for yourself is a reasonable responce to the way most people play cantr, (only logging in once in a while). That way if your attacked anyone there could help you on your drag if your not up. Kind of like being inside, but you would see what happened in the beginning of the attack.
Using the programming quirk to prevent yourself from being dragged anywhere except where you have a key to is abusing a bug in my opinion.

I must say.... This idea is cind of.... not to my licking.
In my experiance as a player, I have noticed that there is no way to break into a locked building besides having the key, or a crowbar. I think that you should be able to dragg yourselvs into locked boats, but with buildings it should be harder,(with a boat you can just jump abored, or you can clime, easy as that, but with buildings, you would have to clime into the building through a window, THUS, BUILDINGS DO HAVE WINDOWS!!!!!)
there you have it, my two silver dollars.

What would be the point of a lock if people didnt even use the door... thats a stupid idea, people would be stealing boats left right and centre and building would be emptied before you could say Pie[/code]

Um, is it just me or did that have nothing at all to do with the topic?
Anyway, I like being able to protect myself in an emergency, and I agree with whoever said that there should be a 'guarding' project, if the ability to drag yourself is taken away.
