Travelling around Cantr

Postby SekoETC » Mon Sep 12, 2005 5:12 pm

Hmm hmm hmm I just started thinking what's the longest journey your character has walked? Or I think using vehicles temporarily doesn't count but sailing around or between islands is another thing. Ok you can also say if your character has sailed around an island but I'm mainly asking about land journeys.

Out of my characters:

Yvonne travelled around K-island, visiting every location at least once unless I missed something.

Lewis was spawned in Blaman mountains, travelled through Querk, Kwaki, Hilloi, Flonder... Lake Village, Reniov/Siom region to as far as Jakara (which he hated) and back to Quillanoi, to Hills of Hilloi, back to Quillanoi again, from there to Reniov forest and Again to Hills of Hilloi (planning to go back to Reniov mountains for the.. fourth time was it?)

Jaina was originally from Quillanoi forest, travelled from Brunoi to Reniov forest in a van, then walked across the desert to Kiii, and has visited Knatr mountains by sailing there on a reeeeaally slow longboat. Now gone to Jakara hills and wants to go back to Kiii as soon as possible, never to leave again and grow to be a grumpy old lady (while beating pirates).

Oh, oh and Gahak has travelled from Djorf hills to Seatown region to across the Klojt mountains to Doryiskom, from there to Shortinazy, from there got a short boatride to Longinazy, travelled around the forests for a while and visited both Blojts and now he has his own boat. *coughs* Well now somebody will prolly draw the conclusion of his identity even though he's been going by his last name on that side of the strait, escaping from his past and trying to start a new life.

Still editing, and Seko has travelled from Pak to Zhift forest to Mulof (north) to Pok southern mountains (again) to Krif and Drojf and back to Mulof (north) through the shorter way.

Not to mention Nayome gone from Miron hills (east) to Naron to Flonder to Reniov forest and back to Flonder, half of this on a boat. Pretty much for a blind girl.

I think my most traveled char is the one who was spawned in Brunoi but, in the course of exploring the nearby area, came into possession of a fully loaded bikecart which had been stolen by a newspawn who hopped out of it and started wandering around saying things like, "What is this place? How do I play this game?" When she looked inside the cart and saw all the goodies she just couldn't resist the temptation. Sorry, We Giant Warehousing. You shouldn't leave your bikes unlocked.

So she fled into the the desert and up into the Pok Mountains with her loot. Trading here and there and looking on every road for a passage she could get her bikecart through. When it proved impossible she picked up all the valuables and abandoned it up there in the mountains some where, still full of great stuff. Whoever found it must have been pretty happy.

Then she went to Krif, made some nice clothes in Drojf, and eventually went to Seatown Forest to get wood. Had a few adventures while flirting with some cute MacGregors and Rangers. Built a lovely boat and has been sailing into the open sea for about a year now.

That's a pretty good journey, I think. I hope she finds some land soon so she can keep exploring.

My Tircqi travelled from Brunoi to Quillanoi to Lake Village to Reniov/Stofer Mts to Siom to Jakara to Zuzi to Kiii, across the Knatr deserts to Naron, to Miron, to Brinks and the neighboring Xiria Forests, back across the desert and settled in Zuzi. That's coast to coast by land (some bits on tandem bike with companion), refering to the Hobbes Map.

A lot of my characters have sailed a lot (one being more obvious than the rest), but that seems to be excluded from the topic.

Had too a mapmaker travel around the whole K-island twice, once to see the locations and once to distribute the maps.

Now I have another mapmaker travelling around the Esperanto home island for some 10 Cantr years now. It's quite a big land, and the roads are not improved ... he'll get back home sometime in our year 2006 - poor guy.

My character Teresa traveled from the Quillanoi area (can't remember exactly where), moved up the coast, where she then attempted the desert from Kiii I think, but failed, so traveled back to the Stofer Mountains N, to recooperate, then tried it again, successfully, and traveled up to the Knatr Mountains.

Ershum Jennings has been about everywhere on the Quillanoi/Lad island.

Too bad he didn't keep a map. Although he probably would have had a time keeping a good map, because two legs of his journeys were boat warpings.

How many English speaking islands are there and what are they generally referred to?

Dair has travelled between Kirinn and Kwor and everything such as those over...and over...and over...and over again... for eight years.

The main ones are these:

Cantr: Cantr City/Ladvicitavoi, Siom/Quillanoi, Tircqi/Sjoftich, depends on choice on what you want to call it. It's been mapped by Thomas Hobbes, preliminarily by Rylan Ashcroft and partially by Armedian Koloff.

Pok: Krif-Drojf-Seatown, Olip areas, Akypor, Doryiskom, Dorian, etc; mapped most significantly by Andaru Treefeather, and also to some part by Rigel Starseeker.

Sring Sri: Mapped by Bill Smith.

K isle/Nonirowk: Karnon, Kirinn, Kwor, etc; mapped visually first by Dirt and textwise by Dust.

There's a few more that have been discovered e.g. Burgeo, Tonlor Ben, Omeo (Russian island), etc

Omeo is a Russian island?

Granted, the only char I had there was short-lived, but the few people they saw spoke English. (And the char was set to be spawned in an English area)

Russian by origin, English by exploration/colonization.

Willy Hound traveled all of Sring-Sri then left on a Darter with Katie Hoggs. We sailed to Xiria Seaside and Blaman and other ports on that continent. Someone boarded our boat and stole what I had not locked down. Willy Hound hopped in his longboat and undocked to chase the thief. He never caught him and couldn't find his way back to the Darter. Willy decided to sail back to Sring Sri but died at sea, never finding his old island.
