I am a lovesick fool who, when not gazing imbecilically at his lady, is trying to turn his village into a thriving community.

I am a woman who has risen to a minor position in a town, doing her best to help everyone in sight, whether they want it or not.

I am a bit of a wanderer, who has, much to my surprise married and settled down, only to then for some irrational reason taken up a job in law enforcement.

An update:

cantrlady wrote:I am a happily married woman in her forties who expects the people around her to be the best that they can be and when they aren’t, I am the one more devastated. I have never recovered over my Governor’s immoral actions and my role in his lover’s suicide I also have a younger man in my life and my husband doesn’t seem to mind this.

Still married - but apart and the younger man in my life has been sleeping quite a bit.

I am running a small forest with my mate. We are content except for the random threats we receive from my ex-fiancé who is a general in a nearby town.

No threats lately and life is quant in the small town except for the occasional suicidal newspawn.

I am thriving in a large forest.

Why doesn't everyone just try to get along?

I am on a boat with my lover….life doesn’t get any better than this.
Still together but both are sleepy.

I am collecting coal with my life mate who often forgets his own name. I worry when he goes on a resource run that he will forget his home and won’t make it back.
Still together and have made a home in a small town - quirky couple that I love.

I am an ex-pirate and ex-resource gatherer who is planning on going on a boat with a few friends. Maybe we will be pirates again or maybe we won’t.

No illegal activites yet but the day is young!

I am the law in a quirky town.

Still the law and a bit restless.

I am a business owner in a town where there is a valuable resource.
Left that town and joined a tribe. Much happier.

I am a female on a boat with two men..one a possible love interest and the other becoming a friend.
All are friends and roaming around a new island.

I am a male collecting healing food for the fighters in the business that employs me. I found out that I can only do a minimal amount of damage with my weapons. I am contemplating suicide to get over my humiliation.

Still a horrible fighter but am on a boat mapping a new island with two others from this organization

I am a lonely woman cooking food in a room
RIP

New character: Deputy chief in a steel business with a very very very talkative manager. :P

I've got the sneezing sickness, thanks to a bunch of scoundrels, though I don't mind so much since I'm focused on burying my companion of a solid 20 years once we reach her shores again, which are just beyond the horizon.

I'm becoming grumpier by the day, being away from the family has carved very deep frown lines, and there is only one thing that will fix it. I hope she returns before all is too late.

I was an adventurer, explorer, and a pirate full of mischief, taken on the beach of a foreign (Russian) land, where wood is the only resource--the commodity that was long sought in her spawnplace of Pok, some twenty-six years prior--leaving behind my lifelong companion.

I am the leader of a quiet forest, concerned as all my residents are deceased or away, being so lonely has given me a desire to get away, but I feel obliged to await their return first.

I was a traveler, close friend to a Jack of All Trades, with whom I journeyed a great many mile, from Tircqi to Naron, and back again to Zuzi, where she finally became the aide and best friend of the Empress--in whose arms she slipped away from the world.

I was the eldermost person on the Aki Island, once a mayor, then an explorer, a founder of a new city, then involved in a small but bloody civil war, which she escaped with her plunder from; these resources now being used to build up a new town, in her wake as a guidance councilor, of sorts.

I was an Imperial Guard of Sjoftich, after crossing the foreboding Blaman Mountains, which took the lives of his leaders, and so began my true seaborne journey with a close friend, and bringing on board another, a would be lover, but never so, perhaps the reason for taking his life in the treshold of tragedy, on a foreign land.

I am the de facto leader of the Clan, trying hard and determinantly not to be the heir to a legacy, as slated to be my destiny in this long lost tune:

A lonely child born in the wilds
Joined the bravest ones
He learned their ways
And drew their pay
But his heart was known to none
He came to lead those mighty men
And took me as a son
But he and I could not have known
The pain that had begun.

A quiet man of wisdom
Denied a simpler fate
He tried to be my father
But the battles wouldn't wait
He earned his love through killing
A thundering iron hand
A need that burned inside of him
Took me years to understand
The leader of the Clan is tired
And his sword is growing cold
But his blood runs through my sabre now
And his need is in my soul
My life has been a poor attempt
To imitate the man
I'm just a painful legacy to the leader of the Clan.

My brothers lives were different
For they heard another call
One lusts gold in the mountain lands
And the others I don't see at all
Now I lead my father's lands
When battle doesn't call
Living out this life I chose
But don't understand at all

I thank you for your teachings sir
And your stories of the road
I thank you for trusting me
To lead while you were growing old
But when I hear the battle cry
And look across the land
The face I see on my enemy
Is the leader of the Clan's

The leader of the Clan has passed
And his sword has long been cold
But his blood runs through my claymore still
And his need is in my soul
My life has been a poor attempt
To imitate the man
Am I the painful legacy
Or the leader of the Clan?

Are you Captain Thomas Hobbes, by any chance?

If so, Commodore Alec Ket does not enjoy having himslef and his crew called scoundrels. He is, after all, sort of a show-off.

So do you this we're scoundrels or does Mr. Hobbes think we're scoundrels?

Well, first off, it doesn't matter what Hobbes thinks here. It shouldn't affect what your character or even you think about what he thinks. I don't really have faith in people to keep this seperation, so I won't reply definitively one way or the other.

However, what I think is that they're scoundrels. Seriously, what honest traders would dock to another's boat, especially when they're sick? It's like going to school when you have the plague to get all your colleagues sick.

That's because they're not honest traders.

That's rediculous and you've essentially forced a breach. If he reads what you just posted, he can't help but play with that knowledge. Delete your post.

Edit: I guess it's better now.

I am... mourning the death of my beloved tutor and friend while building a lock.
I am... slowly starving to death, but trying to save myself the best I can.
I am... in the process of building my business' headquarters
I am... a very efficient thief in the mountains.
I am... attempting to trade some expensive rings for some clothes so I don't have to stand naked in front of my hunky boss.
I am... a lovestuck girl with chronic voice-loss.
I am... another lovestruck girl who desperately wants to marry her fiance, but he's never awake, the lazy bum.
I am... following a man with the dream of doing good deeds for everyone.
I am... suicidal.
I am... yet another lovestruck girl, over her head in love with a man with a great singing voice...I also love making jewelry.
I am... an anti-social, grumpy woman with no interest in anyone but herself and the man who uses the drying rack.
I am... a quiet, fat man who loves tulips.

I am...

1.) ...making clothes for a woman who I really really really liked ever since we hooked up (only minutes after I spawned, some two years ago), and after that, if I can get the resources, for the rest of town too.

2.) ...chasing one violent thief who's about to meet the business-end of my pickaxe, while at the same time trying to stay well ahead of his gang of three men who carry better weapons and protection than I can stand up against.

3.) ...setting up a public supply of food for travelers and newspawns in a place I claimed, stocking up my personal supply, and keeping someone alive who hasn't done or said anything since spawning.
I still hope she ends up becoming active, because I don't need another dead body in that place, but if she doesn't, well, at least the wild animals seem to prefer attacking her over me.

4.) ...burying my travelpartner, who survived drastic foodshortages, only to fall prey to the inhabitants of a hostile place, and then to wild animals in the next place, while we were gathering onions which might have saved her.
It really stings that this happened shortly after she made it clear that she wanted me for more than just a travelpartner/business-associate.

5.) ...trying to reach the next place, where hopefully I can trade all that hematite for some much-needed food... as rich as that place in the mountains was in hematite, with bare hands I couldn't even tickle those tortoises, and even if I could, the meat wouldn't be that easy to prepare without wood or even a fireplace.

6.) ...gathering wood so I can build that longboat in the next place, and start on that journey that Sarah wanted to make, before she so tragically died.

7.) ...smoking lots of meat for the group of traveling traders I'm with, so we can leave this desolate and barren place in the desert again, and I'm sure that this place is haunted, with all those graves and unfinished burials.

8.) ...trying to get as many people to vote for me as possible, so I will be allowed to take part in the actual elections.
I don't want to become a ruler, but just because someone is a councilor doesn't mean he gets away with insulting me or the place I came from - I will do whatever I can to take his job, and if it works I'll get him banned from this place!

9.) ...roaming around making a map for someone, and thinking of proposing to a special someone when I get back home.

10.) ...starving in some prison, just because I thought someone was being friendly to me - turns out the bastard only gave me those things to see a random person get arrested, he admitted it to me but denies it when I try to tell others how he admitted to it, and because he's one of the residents of that place, while I'm just a traveller, nobody believes me.

11.) ...about to sign 20 years of my life over to a military organization in return for some tools, a shield and a weapon...
I hope they won't invade my hometown, I wouldn't be able to live with that disgrace...

12.) ...about to take a job for 10 years, in return for things needed to make a vehicle.

13.) ...trying to trade for a crowbar so I can open up this locked building in a region that I'm about to claim as my own.

14.) ...becoming second-in-command of a small trading organization, and hoping that this position will help me to set up another organization which will be able to help people in need.

15.) ...travelling to find a place where my skills are needed and appreciated.
