Are you using Winamp? Or what player are you using? You might have to go to the shoutcast page and find out the ways to get it to run. There could be a number of reasons it is not playing for you. Please let me know if you still have problems.

I would like to thank Sunni for helping me out while I am away. I am unable to run the station right now cause my parents computer sucks. :x

But I had time to do some research and have found something that has been added to my christmas list for the station to become even better.

It is a program that will put the playlist on my web page by itself and... and, it will let you, the listener, request songs right there and then. Yes you will be able to request songs and I won't even have to be by the computer for them to be played. Now is that not cool? *Hears crickets*
Well I think it is.

Once again, thank you sunni for taking care of the station for me. And I hope you all enjoy the music. If you have anything that you would like to hear please post it here and I will get on it as soon as I get back home.

Thank you,
Colonel

As I have stated on the station I have many plans for the station and its growth. There are many different things that I can get and do to make the station more enjoyable for everyone. There are a few programs that I am looking into, I am going to try to get a website so then it is easier to remember then what we have now and many different things that the station really needs. (Some things I have been meaning to get for awhile but have not been able to.) Now with this all said, I have added a donations button here http://www.freewebs.com/colonelsoanes/index.htm and ask that if you can donate to help make the station better it would help so much.

All donations will go straight into the station and for the things that are needed and for other expenses. If we can get up to a Bit Rate of 128 Kbps then we can have the on demand idea come into effect and with the new program that I am looking into we will be able to have a request page on the web site where you may request songs and get them played even if I am not around.

There is also another thing that I have found and that is the option to have access for windows media player access for those who do not want to or can not have winamp. This is a great option, I am not to sure how it works just yet but I tried it out on a different station at my parents place where their computer is very slow and old and it worked awesome, so I will really look into that for us also.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to the Station and if you have any suggestions to make the station better for all of us please let me know. Thank you,
Colonel

I believe you'd just use "open url" under file, when WMP is open.

edit: and of course, put in the url of the radio station

Well yes but as far as I have seen some older versions of it do not accept shoutcast broadcasts. And this would allow them to play the feed just for wmp. And then there would be the winamp version also.

I'm not getting it; you're saying that the WMP only will play the feed...

What's wrong with that? What are you missing?

Never mind. I will show you later and hopefully that will explain it better. (There are different formats (options) for more people to enjoy.) {Example; I could not hear the station on my parents dinosaur computer but this option that I was talking about let me hear a different station.} But don't worry about it Nick. :)

Any ways, my playlist was erased from my player so I had to try and put it back together so there is a lot of stuff mixed up so please give me some time to try and correct it.

Thank you
Colonel

I just read an email from setnine that I would like to shair with you guys today to show what is going to be added soon to our station. I will keep you informed on all the different changes that come from Setnine.
Please let me know what you think.
============================================

Here is the list of the shoutcast features we are going to add in the next couple of
months:

1)Windows Media Player support. There will be an additional link provided on the
Server List page for Windows Media Player users. The winamp and realplayer link will
be there as well.

2)Comprehensive statistics viewer. Each customer will have access to detailed
statistics information for his/her shoutcast server.
The information will include:
•Average listening time
•Daily listener counts
•Total connections
•Total disconnections
•Hourly listener counts
•Top 50 listeners
•Top 50 connecters.
•Bar graph on daily counts and hourly counts for easy reading of peak days/times.
•(maybe) listeners by country in additional to IP listing.
•And much more…

3)Additional templates for the shoutcast customer Home page. There will be several
templates to choose from with various colors.

Warmest Regards,

Shoutcast Setnine Hosting Staff.
