Erake laughed. Boy was this guy touchy or what? "Calm down...I was just kidding around...Honestly I think you're one of the least boring creatures here...I loved the way you made that thing tear itself apart." She stretched her long wings as far as they would go...again, partly to brag, but also because she really needed to stretch them. Letting her wings return, she grinned. "So what's your name, eh?"

She grinned. "Hey, buddy...I figured you've probably pissed off every other creature out there. You haven't managed to do that for me yet..." She laughed and disappeared, then she walked to where she stood behind him, and said quietly, "I just thought you'd like some company. I know how gods seem so boring. I assure you. I'm not as boring as you may think. Come on...Just your name?"

“What a very odd duo.” Thought MushBall as he continued on his route. “I wonder what a Beezlebub is. It can’t be all that terrifying. I’m sure that was all simply an excuse to hide in their shell. I don’t blame them. My presence must have been a bit overwhelming for them. Ah well. Such is the way of things.”
Thinking how fast Kitty had gone from the temple back to the Muck Pond, MushBall began to worry that she would have made it so far ahead of him by now that he would never catch up.
“Silly girl, really. Always so anxious too plunge headlong into exploration, never stopping to take things in, although I suppose that she, unlike myself, does not have an obligation to take time to grace the commoners with her presence. Oh, the burdens of greatness….”
Thinking this, he broke into a run, his mushy feet slapping the ground as he went.

(Snake_byte, it goes against every bone in my body to make a change like this, but I think I may have made your character *too* powerful. What I would like to do is make it so that you still have basically the same power, except you can't command a *player* character to commit suicide... let's chalk it up to strong will or something
See my problem was that yours was the first power I had thought up, so it was difficult to get a feel for the balance. Beelzebub still has one of the most lethal powers though.)

Losom's cave was a somewhat small, rather cluttered little place. Audirda could see literally thousands of artefacts of similar style to the one she carried with her. They were arranged in a seemingly hodge-podge manner on a series of stone shelves. In the middle of the room was a large stone table piled high with artefacts. From the cavern ceiling hung a metal cage full of phosphorescent "worms" of some kind. They were responsible for the glow in the cave.
From behind the mountain of artefacts in the center of the room, a curious creature emerged. It was rather short, with two arms; a great lobster-like claw was attached to the end of one arm, the other arm having a much more dextrous four-tentacled appendage on the end of it. It had a dull red exoskeleton, with little legs that looked like they might be better for scuttling along the sea-bed than for swimming. It seemed very crab-like in appearance. Its eyes stuck up above its "head" on long stalks.
"Why hello there!" it exclaimed in a kindly, low-pitched and bubbly voice. "I haven't seen you around before! Are you from somewhere else, or are you a new creature from the Pond? Well, I welcome you in any case! I am Losom, tender of the Anemone Garden."
Losom had already started to eye the artefact in Audirda's pouch.

While Beelzebub and Erake traded barbs, the voice of Garob erupted in maniacal laughter again. It then began to make taunting noises, exclaiming a juvenile "Na, na!". The sound came from far off down the tunnel, back in the direction of the underground stream.
(For Schme)
Kitty had not moved for some time. Perhaps she suspected that MushBall would awake soon and did not wish to continue without him. After all, how would he know which path she decided to take? Or perhaps she was just tired from having travelled so much today. At any rate, presently MushBall caught up to her, entering the clearing and spotting her in the tall grass.

Hearing a sound a feet thunmping on the ground behind her Kitty wakes up with a start, as it seems she had fallen asleep after speaking to the Goddess, turning around to see what had made such a loud noise Kitty Smiles when she sees it is her friend the MushBall. "so Good to see you have awaken" she said walking over to her friend
"I have spoken to the Life goddess whilst in this forest and she told me of another God of some sort I believe, I wish to go find him as he sounds a most respectable person. He is keeper of this forest so he must be a great person to create such a beautiful place." Motioning with her head she tells the MushBall in which direction to find the forest keeper.

MushBall waved in greeting, and listened too Kitty’s story carefully. “The Goddess of Life! What a valuable connection!” he thought. “She really is a great deal more sociable than one would think, her not being made of mush, as she is.”
He heartily agreed to the idea of going to meet the Forest God, and suggested that, in addition, they should pay a visit too the pink people of the village, if only for the sake of higher learning.
And so, he went with her in the direction in which she had indicated, looking forward a great deal to meeting the god of the forest.

I hear the familiar laughing again and ignopre Erakes request for a name.
"Get out of my-" I stop abruptly in my speech. This will take some training...
I let out a deep growl and walk quickly in Erakes direction just shoving her out of my way as I walk briskly back down the hall after the laughter.
When I reach the river again, I look around for Garob.

As MushBall and Kitty walked along the path, they heard the sounds of some kind of high-pitched wind instrument. Birds darted about every which way, some small song-birds and others large partridge-like birds. Further along they could see that the path became wider, slowly growing into a clearing that was significantly smaller than the last, and devoid of grass.
Upon entering the clearing they were greeted with the most bountiful display of life and energy they had seen since crawling out of the Muck Pond. Wild animals ran all about, seeming to dance. Some tall, pale-skinned and lightly clothed creatures sat about or reclined on rocks covered in a soft, cushiony moss.
A large tree dominated one side of the clearing. Out of the base of the tree grew a large wooden throne, lined in the same soft moss as the rocks. A short little pig-like creature sat there, with a crown of those deep-blue wild-flowers about his head. He had cloven hoofs for feet, which ended his stubby pig-legs, but his hands ended in four stubby little fingers each. In one of these he clutched a little stone goblet full of some light red substance. His eyes were round and wide, and his nose was squished in like a pig. He had a most joyous expression on his face.
As the pair entered the clearing, the pig-man quickly slugged back the red liquid, discarding the stone cup on the ground and smashing it into pieces. The pig-man leapt from his throne and stumbled over towards the newly-arrived pair.
"Oh, welcome! Welcome! How ARE you? Please, please, have a seat!" He motioned towards some empty moss-covered rocks. "I am Bassus, lesser god of the Forest! What's this lesser god business you say? No matter, at least I don't have to deal with that stuff. More time to enjoy myself! Isn't that right girls?" he turned his head towards the tall, pale females. They giggled and nodded.
"Come, Yanisha, bring these creatures some cups of berry-wine!" he shouted to one of the girls. "And bring me another while you're at it!"
He turned to MushBall and Kitty, looking into each of their sets of eyes. "Oh, it is most wonderful wine! I guarantee you will love it!"
The one called Yanisha gracefully ambled next to Bassus with a wooden tray in her hand. She eagerly gave one cup to MushBall and one to Kitty, bending over slightly as she did so. After she had given the cups to them, Bassus gave her a light pinch on the bottom. She made a little "oh!" noise and skipped off toward a moss-covered rock.
Bassus laughed a deep, hearty laugh. "Ah, she is a most lovely one isn't she! Yes, drink! And we shall talk of things! Sit!" At that, he stumbled back to his throne, nearly tripping on an unearthed root in the process.

The laughter and childish mocking could now be heard coming from downstream of the rapidly moving water. It sounded about as distant as it had sounded from the other end of the tunnel. This time it did not cease, but would occasionally trail off only to suddenly be replaced by a renewed fit of laughter.

Seeing that Kitty had finished her cup, Yanisha brought over a decanter and poured more of the liquid into it.
"Oh, you have such pretty fur! And what a marvelous colour!" Yanisha squeaked, gently stroking Kitty's shoulder. "I wish my hair was that colour." Yanisha's hair was bright blonde.

MushBall thoroughly enjoyed the birdsong and music he heard, finding it quiet pleasing to the ear. “Whoever has organized this must have known I was coming.” He thought. “And a very good job they did. What wonderful taste in entertainment.”
He was liking the forest more and more, now that he was no longer rushing and had time to appreciate it. “This must be the finest place I’ve ever been.” He said too Kitty. “Aside from the Muck, that is. I really think that this is a place that I will frequent quiet often, if circumstances permit.”
MushBall was taken aback at the scene that greeted them upon their arrival to the clearing. The great amount of creature was stunning. He had never thought that so many things could gather in such close proximity to each other. Never had he imagined that one could concentrate living creatures to this degree.
He was in turn mesmerized by all of the things he had never before seen. The forest creatures, the throne, the god, the women, near everything he saw was very new to him. All this among the grand trees, which he had only seen for the first time hours before, was a big experience for MushBall.
Gathering his wits, he first studied the god. This fellow seemed to be much mushier than anyone he’d seen with the exception of himself. And seeing as he was a god, and seemed to very important and well respected in these parts, aswell as wealthy, MushBall’s beliefs on the virtues of mush were reassured. “What a grand throne!” he thought. “I think such a thing would suit me very well.”
Eyeing the women, who were moderately mushy (at least, parts of them.) he thought that one of those would suit him, too.
Pressing his two hands together and bowing his head in a respectful greeting, MushBall said that he was delighted to meet them, and that he really did not understand that title of lesser being applied to someone so great at all, either. “You know us, of course.” Said MushBall. “And so I will not bother introduction. I would not insult your intelligence by assuming that such a great and powerful person of yourself would not have heard of the famed MushBall and Kitty. Let us indeed talk of things.”
MushBall sat down cross legged at the foot of the throne, and watched as Yanisha lay the tray of wine in front of him. “I must certainly acquire one of these in the future.” He thought to himself. “They seem very pleasant and useful. Why, think of all the things they could reach with that height!”
MushBall looked at the wine, and from the wine to Bassus, and then to the wine again. Seeing as Bassus was drinking it, he thought it would only be polite to do it aswel, and besides, if it was fit for a god, he supposed it was good enough for him. And so, taking up the cup, MushBall tasted the wine, sucking it awkwardly into him. Finding that he liked it, he began to consume it with more speed.
“Your great hospitality humbles me.” He said, although it came out much less charismatic sounding. “What shall we talk about? I am sure you know many things which I would be delighted to hear about.”

Vex and Xev poke their heads out of their shell. "Well," Xev says, "no monster-slaying demons seem to be coming. And this is exceptionally boring, just hiding like this."
Vex shakes the sleep out of his eyes. "Yes, I know, but do you want to end up with me biting your eyes out, imbecile?"
"I'd rather take a bit of risk and find something valuable than sit here like a coward!" Xev yelled.
"Valuable? What are you talking about?"
"Wealth, Vex! Something to make us famous and rich. We're not going to find it sitting here in this forest hiding from Beezlebub. In fact, maybe if we found some nice things and gave them to Beezlebub, he'd leave us alone."
Vex thought for a second. "Yes... and maybe we could find other Muck creatures that would want our nice things... then we could send them to find other nice things for us in exchange for our nice things..."
"Perhaps," Xev said.
"Indeed," said Vex. "Let's go back to the groff fields, shall we?"
"We shall."
The two start off in the direction of the groff fields.

Erake rolled her eyes. "Fine...You don't want company, suit yourself." She shrugged...She really didn't care if he did or not, just the fact that she was bored out of her mind. She turned and went down the tunnel, which seemed to last forever, and finally exiting the cave. She looked around and stretched her long wings again, feeling cramped from being inside.

The sun had now descended halfway, marking mid- to late-afternoon. The sky remained mostly clear, though a few more clouds had snuck in.
(For Schme)
Yanisha came over to MushBall, leaning over provocatively as she decanted more wine into his cup. As she rose up again, she placed a hand on the bit of mush that might be called his shoulder.
"Oooh! So mushy!" she said, giggling. "Oh and what a pretty necklace! So shiny!" She looked closely at the silver fang with her big doe eyes. Having got her fill of the fang, she walked over to a stump and picked up a small fan made out of feathers. She took a seat next to MushBall and fanned herself as she gazed at him. "And such lovely blue eyes!" she exclaimed.
Bassus laughed. "I think Yanisha has taken a liking to you MushBall! Ha ha ha! Well, what shall we talk about? Indeed! Well, how 'bout you two start? Do you have any questions?"
Two more of the tall women drew up alongside Bassus in his throne, one on each side. The one on his left held a bundle of berries in a crudely-woven basket, and began to feed them to him, one at a time. The one on his right filled up his cup with more wine, which he downed quickly, wiping the excess on his arm. The wine-girl grabbed a feather fan and waved it at Bassus as he sat there with a wide grin.

The groff-fields were empty as Vex/Xev emerged from the forest. Resuso did not appear, presumably because Vex/Xev were already full of groff.
