Congratulations. You've been cursed.
I'm your no-longer-playing mother. Sorry!

Yeah. In true FTO style by going out as a zombie.
Blame your father for accepting that mating invitation after the whole dupe blowup.

I don't have a character in your colony. And now I never will.

You really shouldn't, in my honest opinion. Quitting. I mean, you could always just avoid the forum if that's what bothers you. The game remains fun...mostly.

Damnit! Double-cursed. Now I'm a motherless fairy.

Not to mention one of my sisters already poked me in the eye.
You should keep playing.

Avoiding the fail forums does help but once someone does something stupid IC and you only have one available slot to do much... and have to wait god knows how long for a new character... the forums start looking good... and then you are forced to quit before the stupid infects you.

It's for the best, really. Lumin has a personal issue with me playing his game so it's probably best for all involved that I take a step back.
I've seen what I needed to see of FTO, contributed what I could. The mechanics were starting to really bore me (the only excitement is building yet another item, or popping out yet another kid) and for some reason, the roleplay isn't enough to keep me there (yet in Cantr, it was, interestingly enough). I'm not exactly sure what is wrong but something just doesn't feel right with the mechanics/concept. The actual code quality (and the fact it is edited on the production server) scares the cr*p out of me.
The way I see it, I got banned, but I also dragged him kicking and screaming into a fast, major improvement to FTO. Call it an acceptable loss.
I'm going back to my reveries.

No, I meant 'was', because I quit playing in June/July (I've already forgotten when!). Although I suppose it 'is', because that wasn't my reason for unsubscribing.
And Sum, when you're old enough, poke your sister back. I can just imagine which sister it was, too.

You're lucky to have scored some very clever roleplayers in that family.

That's how I feel about FTO. x.x once things start getting in place, I'm sure it'll be decent... but... .-. for now, kids and stuff isn't too interesting.

I quit FTO last night, and what you said pretty much sums it up. I completely forgot to check the game after the holiday break, and I said, "you know, that means it's time to quit." (That's my standard measure of when to quit any game - when I start forgetting to play). I think if I had to put my finger on one thing that had more of a negative effect on me than anything else, it was spawning as a non-human. That really took me out of it from the start. Also, it pissed me off that I could see all these things I could potentially make, yet couldn't figure out what tools I needed to construct them.

As much as I hate the birth queue, I surprisingly like the whole "being born" thing. It's not much fun that newborns can't do anything, but it does force you to RP more. You have to make your family aware that you're not a zombie, plus it gives you time to bond with the people around you. Although, I could just be a lucky one who has had family members actually interact with active newborns (in spite of my zombie mother

) ; I've read varying stories of neglect.
That's about as far as my impression of FTO has gotten. Some of the interface seems cumbersome or awkward, but it's probably just a matter of getting used to something new. We'll see how I feel about it when I can actually start doing things. The construction of things is a little confusing at the moment having only read about it.

I'm glad I don't think like that otherwise I wouldn't be playing Cantr right now.
