Why should we?
Honey, this world is built on actions and realities, not dreams and promises. Believe me, promises are just a promise until they're made good on.
I'm going to stop before I go on a rant about game developers on a mass scale but I think you know what I'm saying.

Yep, I am doing everything myself (with the exclusion of vegetation, animal and resource lists and the knowledge trees), which is why it takes time. I work full time, regularly travel for work, have a horse I will be showing to state level in a few months, and develop Reveri.es in what is left of my spare time. If only I could do this full time. :)

No, I will not be GMing, there is a paragraph on why on FTO forums if anyone cares to read more on the topic.

I had originally toyed with the idea as hell, it would be fun, but now realise it is completely against what I am trying to achieve - so definitely not. Reveries really is "serious business" as in I am building a virtual place (not a game) with deep interactions - I think the result could be truly incredible and a very valuable platform with which to study the psychology/geography/anthropology/sociology of virtual worlds. Acting as GM would completely destroy the integrity of the world - not least of which because people act differently if they know there is a GM that may be listening/watching.

OH HOW MAGIC IS THIS! :D :!:

You also seem to view my "issue" with the current "problem" via FTO. Now I'm REALLY EXCITED!!!!!!!

I'm glad Dudel is satisfied. Because when Dudel is satisfied, all is right with the world.

Any mention of the word "God" or your cultures name for your God(s) will be logged and read by Lumin for possible divine intervention. Assumedly he will read events in certain areas anyway, for possible other intervention.

Yeah, yeah yeah yeah.

No but seriously, I am actually excited for this game.

I do have a question though.

Question: Will you be doing something "particular" in making a certain type of behavior/action/etc "better" then another or will it be really a matter of each behavior/action/etc is only as good as it is worked by the character/player/etc? (I hope for the latter)

Encourage some to "do this" and discourage some to "do that"? Be it with game mechanics or otherwise?

I doubt it (certainly unintentionally if it does!!), I'm just providing a roleplay framework, really. With a lot more environmental code and behind-the-scenes consequence than you would expect. You will train some stats by certain behaviour, so that encourages that behaviour - but cantr does this too. :) There is also stat decay, which could discourage some behaviour, but I don't think this is what you were concerned about..

I heard open beta starts around mid-2010, correct? I'm trying to weigh whether I'm worth being part of the closed beta process or should just wait til then.
