I think she wishes to have an already established world and culture before letting main players join the ranks.

Still player created but it'll take some time to allow. ;)

Of course I could be wrong.

Spot on Dudel. I'm planning to "seed" the world with experienced roleplayers, give them time to find partners and start families, develop cultures naturally prior to letting in the unwashed masses and reviewers - hopefully having enough of a seed population to alleviate any major birth queue issues. So they are less testers and more there to set the stage (and a good roleplaying example) for the first generation.

Can't wait. I've always wanted to see the development of a game society from the beginning.

Huh, checking back at your site, I just realized that the planet on the left changes...

Does it 'rotate' with time or simply a random image at load-up?

Oh. I was about to say, yeah, I know about the seeding thing, I'm a part of it, after all. x]

Anyway, when will we be able to get to work seeding the world?

It's a "real time" world view updated every 10 minutes. So it's the reveri.es world map, showing the section that will be in daylight when you are viewing it.

Ah so a day in reveries is one hour? As there's only six pictures, lol. Wasn't hard finding that folder.

An email will be sent to all closed beta testers when I have a better idea of a more solid deadline, for now "late 2009". :)

Go go go go go!

EDIT: CF, I've decided I'm more than slightly uncomfortable hearing -you- use the word seeding :D. Lol.

Yeah, I haven't turned indexing off yet.. and grr. lol.

At the moment it's set for hourly but I'm fairly sure I'll slow it down more.
