I prefer the server is down. At least now my chars aren't aging. All I've managed to do with 2 chars since it's been back online is cook. Haven't even attempted to play the third char.

Maybe if they could reduce the re-uploading the whole page after every petty thing. I don't know about server, but it sure upsets my poor little baby.

Re: Faery Tale Online (FTO)
Exactly my thought, Miri.
I actually think a whole lot of stuff could go much smoother and with less bandwidth use if they would have used a few simple coding conventions. Like don't process or reload what doesn't need to be reloaded.

Very nice to find the game back online and both of my characters starving. Lumin could at least have the decency to reduce people's hunger if the game has been down for days or even weeks.

Haha, and thanks a lot to the system or my character's mother for not naming her, so she's now 18 with no name, even though her community knows well what to call her. I PM'ed Lumin asking if he could do something about it but so far no reply.

Re: Faery Tale Online (FTO)
He doesn't have the time to consider requests from his players that are so petty like that.
Instead he is working hard on compressing the packages sent from the server and at the same time on making the whole thing somewhat graphical. That's very important as it will make the server load much lighter. Honestly.
Now...if he would actually get his head around fixing the actual issues instead of coming up with make-shift solutions... Like getting rid of the page reload for just about any casual action.

Re: Faery Tale Online (FTO)
If he introduces graphics, I quit. It'll simply kill the game. No graphics can do better than good rp and imagination.
A -huge- dragon has just landed on the top of the wall enclosure my fammily lives in, and spoke to my mother. Then they spoke about something outside, and then she left, leaving me (1yo baby) locked with some food and a sleepy father... I think she'll turn out to be a real fun to play
Don't tell me graphics (especially simplified-tiled ones like those he's showed) would do it any better. Quite the opposite, I suppose.

I won't quit over it, but I don't think extra graphics is the way to go if you have trouble with server load and bandwidth capacity. I'm not making a new character though, just keeping my current alive for the family. When he dies, I'll walk away without looking back.

Re: Faery Tale Online (FTO)
I also discovered a huge amount of unnecessary code being loaded on each page refresh for creature/people descriptions, buried dead bodies, and other objects. I've gotten rid of just about all of it which should greatly increase loading times.
May it be...? /hopeful

We shall see...
And Miri, you wouldn't happen to be Talian of origin, eh?
A frost dragon-like just got back to our town after checking on Talians that passed through it a long time ago. Apparently the couple has one kid and the woman is travelling to our town now.

Re: Faery Tale Online (FTO)
So they're called Talians now, huh? At the times of my first ever FTO character they were calling themselves Holmkin, but then mommy Talia was still alive, or later dead not that long ago
And now I'm my own grand-daughter of sorts
Yeah, I'm that baby girl.

Re: Faery Tale Online (FTO)
Hehe, well, I'm not sure how they call themselves, but the Kindred of Lorelei call them Talians because that's the one mentioned to be the first of the kind.
Funny to know people in another game even when you haven't met them at all,
*isn't going to rush out to meet though, it wouldn't fit the character*
but you'll have new visitors soon, I can tell you that,

I don't think she would care much about visitors, she just turned 2 yesterday
her most recent topic of great interest are strawberries (roll-roll, splash-splash)
Holm was Talia's father, if I remember right, the one who first settled under the mountain and started digging. They familly have lived underground for a while, untill the introduction of random agresiveness.
Edit to not doublepost:
Have any of you ever had a character with magic? How is it like?
