I would be nice to have an Asian representative (someone who can frequent chinese forums and such) in the Marketing Department. I am afraid I am short on advertising ideas and/or peeking peoples' interests most of the time.

Whoever is that advertiser should have VERY good firewall, virus, spyware protection because 80% of chinese web sites give you viruses and spyware.

How about introducing the game to people you know first? If this get spread around in China, we'll have lots of people in no time then....

I thought one of the requirements for the creation of a language was that someone volunteer to promote Cantr in the language? What happened to that?

Sho, honestly, I don't remember about that when I first applied as translator. I guess that is now a big priority for the language then.....

well...we have met 2 of the 3, for sure.... although I guess the degree the advertising for more players is the thing that'll need to improve on.

Thanks Sho.

(we do have like 20+ characters in the regions now..hopefully many are active :) )

Try promoting it Cantr in places like Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia (about 25% of Malaysia is Chinese), where the young generation of Chinese are bilingual. We could help you out with translation work.

We are trying to boost our marketing efforts. Are there still any ideas on chinese websites, message boards, etc. to try and advertise the game? I am not fluent enough yet to start browsing them much. :) It would be really nice to get some more activity into the region, with a nice cluster of reasonably chatty characters to help drawn in some fresh recruits.

I tried postiing on asianload.com

I don't think they're very interested because they're mostly made up of asian teens from north america.

Torkess, I actually think you should apply to be in MD, they do need quite a bit of help at the moment :)

And regarding more people, I have the opposite feeling though....I think if we do it correctly, asian teens in North America might be a good place to start, as they would be able to better understand the game by having a character in the English region to learn as well.... Plus, if you phrase this as some sort of tool where they can play game while refining their Chinese, it might be even more interesting.

Once we have these people, then it would be easier to spread the game over to Asia, I would think...

But back to my first point, Torkess, apply to MD!! :D
