What's wrong with you guys?!
Why the hell all the lithuannian chars keep attacking the portuguese chars?
All the chars I had which have seen a lithuan char in their lives can tell how mean they are!
I've had a char killed by you guys and two of them are going down soon too!
Is it because we're portuguese or are you against every single stranger?!
I don't get it! It can't be only ingame reasons, for some of my chars have done nothing wrong to get beaten like they have!
Either you guys are pure racists or else you must have chosen the wrong game to play! This ain't no Beat'em up!!!

This is a bit off topic, but related to the gap between cultures. My character is (almost) alone on an island (his partner has been sleeping for long) and some people arrived. They never slipped any notes or tried to communicate with him. Now I assume they are Polish (EDIT: nope, turned out to be Russian), but all my character sees is that there is a bunch of strangers, who do not give a damn of what ever rules he may have set, giving him a painful reminder that even though he's equipped with steel, he's still just one man in a strange country. This leads to fear, which leads to anger, which in turn leads to hate (remember the steps to the Dark Side). It is possible that the Lithuanians are afraid as well.

Well, dont worry. There is no rasism. Just your char apieard in wrong plase at the wrong time. I think so. There is a bunch of portuguese and lithuanian that go very nicely around. And explanation to such a thing i think ist becouse portuguese are the only ones that have been near lithuaninans. And allso they have their oun reasons not to trust strangers.

I am very sorry to hear that Lithuanians are attacking Portugese. Our in-game cultures often contact, and I have witnessed nice relationships. However, I have also seen mean chars who intend to kill any strangers as soon as they are born. I believe, this is because of poor roleplaying (I see A LOT of that in Cantr and it annoys me greatley). I've been trying to educate players through in-game means as well as OOC means.
I am really sorry to hear about what's happening, but please do not think that all of Lithuanians are mean because of several stupid jerks with poor RPing.

It's good to know that some of you know that all this is plain wrong but it's a pity that not every one of you thinks like that...
One of my chars that was attacked was a thief so it's not strange that he ended up dead. What's strange is that he was killed when arriving a location by a guy who had never seen him or even heard of him!
The other is was a very lucky guy who found a location with nothing but a house full of resources. He settled there for some days using them, and even as a Lithuan arrived, he told him he was a friend and everything kept going well. The problem started when two other guys came in. They were probably the owners of the house, but they left, so my char found the house alone! Of course he would use it! But they could have tried to explain the house were theirs, but no. Without saying a word, they started beating him up, almost killing him! He is now left without food and so weak he can't even cook properly! He's one of my oldest chars and he's going to drop dead very soon!
The other was attacked yesterday so I can't tell you the details yet, but I assure you, he's not very fond of strangers now! And he's gonna die soon too...
This are some of the reasons why I'm not too happy, although I know it's only a smaller part of you who's been up to this.
And Seko, I doubt it is fear what the lithuans are feeling. Maybe invasion, for we were the ones to reach their island first, but it can't be fear! They were always the first to attack and from what I know, they were never attacked in the portuguese area!
It's poor RPing, and just that!

All elements of society, including the negative ones, are available to be roleplayed. Be careful that you are not trying to impose an OOC motivation for pacifism into the game by declaring random acts of violence to be OOC motivated or poor roleplaying.
Two groups in the English area, The Tribe Blackrock and The Barons, caused quite a lot of social development due to their harsh treatment of their fellow Cantrians. The ned result was very very good for the game, even though several characters died in the process. This is likely the exact same thing with different motivations.
"Kill the foreigners to preserve our culture" is a perfectly reasonable motivation for a growing civilization. The same has occured between the Turks and Swedes. Tensions exist between the French and the Dutch. Sometimes I wonder if any rumblings will flare up between the Germans and Spanish someday, but for now they are managing to coexist peacefully.
Random ethnic violence has certainly been a cornerstone in development of real life societies. Just because modern society has a tendency to hate violence doesn't mean we have to force that on the game. Deal with the issues in character.

Ok, ok... You're probaly right.
It's just that I don't like to see my chars getting killed like that...
But it sure adds life to the game and since violence between portuguese chars never existed it sure is something new and interesting.
I just hope I don't have any more chars spawning in the lithuannian area, for their life is really short and really sucks!
And this will probably be my last post in this thread. I don't want to change anything OOCly, just know the reasons behind these acts.

One of my portuguese charries spawned in an area filled of Lithuanians and they were nice to her. However she has been attacked very often by the Lithuanians charries for no reason other than being a 'foreigner'. She even learned a few lithuanian words to try to make peace. Although some charries don't care, others are still nice and try to communicate back.
So I can only conclude that the attacks by the Lithuanians are not OCC. It's relevant whether or not your portuguese charrie will be attacked by a Lithuanian one. (Meaning it depends on the character)
But I have to agree, it's add a flavor to the game

I believe the problem is related with the following issue.
In majority places there Lithuanian characters lives are the local rules/legislation set. Then the Portuguese character appears in such place he/she behaves in the way there no set rules in the present location. And because of breaking the rules Lithuanian characters became mad.
At least this is the may reason of the conflicts I personally observed.

Oh, you see. I didn't know that. I am sure as hell my charries don't know that hehe
Now I'm thinking if a place wants to be sure all the rules are inforced, they should try to write them in portuguese as well? I mean, since Lithuanians and Portuguese are going to be sharing space no matter what anyways..

Not knowing the laws does not indemnify you from penalties. Even Lithuanian chars get a nice beating sometimes for being lazy to read the laws before hunting or gathering resources.
Both nations have already intermixed to a great extent in both continents. There is no turning back. I guess we'll have to learn each other's languages, if we are to co-exist peacefully. Or develop some kind of common language. Or else the nations shall be be constant fights or even war
We'll see I guess..

I’m wondering now, how you will translate these rules from Lithuanian into Portuguese without using OOC means?
This is tricky.
Any ideas?

c´mon, they atack purely in occ ways!
i have a char who NEVER meet another lithuan(even beeing in the lithuan island), and then he starts to travel. The very first time he sees a lithuan he was atacked with no warning and doing nothing but saying "olá?".
he runs away and in the very next setlement he was atacked whitout saying nothing!
In the portuguese island they spawn and go straight to the same place, i never see such a case o telepaty in cantr!
