Ola. It turned out I will be going to Portugal for a week or so in the end of April. I will be landing at Porto airport and I am also thinking of travelling around the country a bit. I thought this was a good place to ask you guys what's there worth seeing in Portugal. :)

No offense Brazil... but thats to demode...
Not to mention that all brazilian people is moving to portugal...So... Its almost the same....

I never went to Porto but for what I know rulz big time...So...nice choice.

Outside Porto, and since you seem to want around the country, I can sugest

-Ponte de Lima (very traditional if you like, the oldest village of the country)
-Santa Luzia in Viana do Castelo
-Fátima (even if you are not religious, Its an amazing place)
-In Lisbon:
-Mosteiro dos Jeronimos
-Palácio de Belém

I dont know.... these are the 1st places that come to mind

Hey Enca, don't talk bullshit. There is more portuguese immigrants here than brazilians in portugal.

If you go to Fatima and see flashes in the sky, prepare...
Porto has wine. And that is what I can remmember. It is sweeter than regular wine, also stronger.

Brazil is definitely on the list. I've been dreaming for several years now of taking a year-long vacation and going to South America. However, presently, I can't afford a vacation this long and flying to Brazil across the Atlantic for just a week would be way too expensive :)

I am still waiting for sightseeing suggestions in and around Porto.

Why don't you try to go to Alentejo? :D
We also have good whine and for sightseeing it's perfect because wherever you look you'll see only some nice landscape,
Elvas is definitively the second most famous city in Alentejo, with Fatima being the first.

I don't think anyone here knows exactly what can you see in Porto(or what the english call O'Porto  )

You can try at http://www.turismodeportugal.pt/ but it is inPortuguese

EDIT: new url found, IN ENGLISH! :D http://www.visitportugal.com/Cultures/en-US/default.html

Hope that helps you

Thanks for the link. I'll come to Alentejo the next time I visit Portugal. Or maybe I will get bored in Porto ir go south :) I've read all the information about Portugal I could find in Wiki and some tourist sites, but it's always best to get the first-hand information from local residents, isn't it? :)
