Question

I have a question as to wheather something would be CRB or not, and if it was, what to do to get around the problem.

See, recently one of the players was banned from the game. Whoever, his characters remain behind. In one of the towns, his character was leader of it. But seeing as he stopped talking, someone's been keeping him on life support by giving him food.

A new leader cannot be found until this character dies, but he won't be allowed to unless people know he's not coming back. He also has some very rare tools and all of the keys, which are essential to running the town and took quite a long time to acquire. Seeing as he is just sitting there, things have ground to a halt.

So, I was wondering if it would be agains the rules for me to tell people his player was gone, so as to be able to let the town continue on.

If I cannot do this, is there another way to solve the problem?

Just wondering. Thank you.

thats a tricky one, but if he is banned I think you can, and if not just say IC: "I really dont think he is going to wake up, the sleeping illness has got him, we should carry on life as normal and elect a new leader" or something along those lines

The issue is one of keys, I think. If the man has all the town keys, electing a new leader won't help much.

I think it's just too bad for you, though. Leaders fall asleep for a long time without PD intervention, too.

are you sure hes been banned though, because if he has my idea that i has of electing a new leader also included letting that one slowly die...

Usually this isn't a problem - accounts expire after three weeks of inactivity, so unless the banned player's been logging in to check his character logs or something, his characters will die of heart attacks soon.

But in general I think this can be handled without using OOC knowledge about the ban - ban or not, it's reasonable to assume that anyone who's been asleep for a few weeks isn't going to wake up. I'm pretty sure that attacking a banned player's characters just to free up his belongings, without a good IC reason, is a breach.

He won't starve to death as someone's feeding him, and the player is logging in, as it's been some time now, although I only just recently found out about his being permanantly banned.

Also, elections are for wusses.

I believe standard operating procedure for permanent bans is that the password for the account is changed.

Even if that happened, the character is still being fed.

Doesn't matter. If an account times out, the characters all get heart attacks.

A banned account should have been terminated, no?

Schme, it wouldn't change anything if you told me OOC that his player was banned. I already know it.

But she as a character of course doesn't and she would never let him starve... she won't give up hope that he could awaken again until he is dead.

As the others pointed out the character will probably automatically die anytime soon...

Do the same as whatever would happen if the character had 'fallen asleep' for an extended period. Some places go ages with sleepy leaders, some of them quickly find a replacement.

I see.
