Just a quick question here.....

I have a character that is in business with others and is in the need of a resourse he is the one that does all of the trading.

another character I have travels around trading different things... This second character is going to be going through the same town as the first character soon and his normal pattern is to announce what he has to trade when he enters town....

My question is when the second character get to town and announces what he has to trade and some of it is diffently what the first charcter needs how can I accomplish the trade or can I.....

I have had two characters in the same place before but there has never been a need for the to even remotely interact... before one moves on... But when everyone else in town knows that I have need of this resource It would look weird for him to ignore the guy.. also no one else in the buinsess has conducted a trade so that would look weird as well

SO should I OOC to one of my partners that I cannot do the trade because it is another one of my characters and have them do it.. or should I just move the second character through town without even saying his a trader.

I know this may seem novice to some but I have only been at this for a few months and have so far been able to keep characters seperate I really do not want to be in breach so help me please

Sorry for the silly question

In my opinion, both are doing their jobs and not breaking their goals to do so, so long as you don't screw over one char for the other. I think you can work it legitamently in my view.

Yes, but I would just keep the character moving. That is your safest bet.

It is really sketchy here, Im not even sure on what to do in something like this. I will ask around for a member of the pd that has been around longer and then send you a pm, or have them send one to you.

You won't be able to get a really useful opinion...though you may hear what the current 'threat of consequences' level is.

The problem is, it's obviously wrong for you to violate your trader's behavior by not looking for trade, or your other character by not making a favorable trade. At the same time, no one can really be trusted, even by themselves, to deal with something like this with proper separation of characters.

Important thing not to do: don't have both your characters be awake at the same time and just hammer out a deal in one sitting...characters not belonging to the same player almost never manage that kind of synchronization.

Suggestion: Have the character in town find something they need to do inside, and let it be known that the company could do with xyz. Then when your travelling trader comes to town, hopefully someone else will deal with it, or at least be a go-between. No odd behaviour for either character, and no direct work between characters.
