Allah?
I know this is a CR Breach... This is in Karnon Seaside.
1027-6: a man in his twenties says: "I am Ali. I come from abroad and am new to this place. However I am sure that Allah has Written me a good qismet here."
1025-4: a man in his twenties says: "Salaam to all! I go by the name of Ali. May Allah be with all of you fine people. May I inquire as to how we are to earn jobs and to earn a living? I ask as food is a neccesity, which I have little of."

Would you rather he used a different word?
In the newbie guide, it specifically says that, while there are no special powers granted by gods, that doesn't mean that a character might not believe in gods anyway.
It's not that I don't support an atheist ideology, but I kind of resent the idea that "there are no gods in Cantr, therefore any reference to gods or belief in gods is either insanity or CR breach" because, frankly, religion has formed a very important part of many societies. To remove even the possibility of religion is to remove a very important cultural backbone.

Yeah. That's the issue. Gods? Fine. Ripping off as much of Arab Islam as you can figure out how to do?

Incidentally...has one particular (new) player been running a round of 'Arabs'? Because I've seen a stream of Arab-ish names...and at least one of them is an archetypal new player (or a really good imitation).
EDIT: not that that's really any problem...though I'd suggest mixing a bit if you can...

Is there an arabic area?
There are a number of relegions on the K isle alone, and more else where. I love it when they are original and not plagarists. There's one I've heard of recently, calling himself "Sandman". He hands out sand as part of his religion. Haven't met him yet, but he sounds amusing. Now where are the Holy knights of the Brooms?
Reality was never my strong point.

The PD policy on religions is that no religion should be started based on any OOC religion, or using OOC names. The exception to this rule is the Church of Jos, as long established in Quillanoi years ago, and now spread throughout that region.

FarSeer: If you let this dislike affect your characters, wouldn't that be a bit breachy? (It's OOC effect.) I believe in God but my characters are in different states of faith, some believe a higher power is affecting their lives and others agnostics. I have noticed life experiences affect their thoughts of divine and afterlife, so nothing is carved in stone.
