My characters have in the past tested their weapons to see how effective they are... This I think is common sense, but would they sense the recent changes in technology?
E.g my bow has become more effective, if my character see's this while hunting he would be curious as to why, so then would test his/her other weaponry/shields to see if they work as well.
Also a character has been hit full force whilst holding a shield which baffled him. Would characters automatically be aware that there is a chance their shield will not stop the blow or should they walk around confident that the shield is going to do exactly the same as it did when they made it?

I have no say in matters of high regard, nor do I think this should be in 'Capital Rule Breaches', but who am I? Anyways, my opinion on the matter is that the char should assume that they somehow became more accurate in their shot/attack with the strength of the weapons. The shield matter was described in another section, if I recall correctly. They implimented a true-to-life scenario where there is a chance that your shield will be ineffective against attack, i.e., the character tried to block but failed. Simple, in my opinion. Perhaps I'm mistaken. I'm sure I'll be corrected, if I am.

When night and day meet, amazing things seem to happen...

Well think of it in terms of real life. In real life you'd be holding a shield, and the only way you'd get hit is if someone got past the shield. That's what happens when someone does strike you while you have a shield. They aren't going through the shield, you just weren't blocking well enough. I think that's what you were talking about anyway...

But in the character's previous, possibly long experience, it may have been impossible for shields to fail. The ability to fail to block hasn't been around forever. So suddenly the basic function of the shield changed one day. Should the character reallize that his shield doesn't do the same thing any more, before he observes that he can sometimes get mauled by things that shouldn't have hurt him?
