What might happen..

There is a slight chance that three of my characters end up in the same location, though I don't know how long the traveling takes so it might be that they're not in the area simultaneously. But anyway, if they bump into each other, how should I play it? They are all following their own interests so they're not going to help each other. But it would sure seem strange if one asked for the names of the people in the area and the other would refuse to communicate because they are played by the same person.. And would it be a breach if they'd feel some kind of strange familiarity though they have never seen before? I mean I have seen someone else writing IC "I feel like I was living 14 other lives elsewhere".

Yes your characters can communicate when necessary and appropriate for in game reasons. But no, they shouldn't feel any familiarity, as they are complete strangers until they've met.

I once had 3 characters in Seatown Forest at the same time--one was there with his company, and two were Rangers, though from different regions. It would have been far more suspicious if I had had some of them refuse to go, so I just played it. My two Ranger characters (one of which is no longer a Ranger) met each other a few times and remember each other vaguely but don't seem to meet up often at all.

The other one seldom sees either of them.

I don't think any of them have seen each other in about 5 years, and they're all within the KDS region.

It can be done, and without much difficulty.

A bit more confusing: My Blojt character is now in Akypor, my Dory character is now in Long. Forest West, and my Blojt Forest character is now in Olip. Forest.

They keep running into the same people, but never in the same areas.

Well, the Akypor one doesn't, but it's strange to see characters with one char. that another one has known for years.

I'd like to point out that some players, including myself, find that attempting to have your characters steer clear of each other would be a CR breach in itself. Because, you're using OOC knowledge to keep them apart. Of course, it's questionable. But if they do meet, that doesn't mean they need to talk to each other, or even learn each other names (Unless they're all the talkative type people :P)

Yeah, I think so too. That's why it shouldn't be reasonable to change plans because of a possibility of characters ending up in the same area.

I have to change plans sometimes, make my chars gather food a little longer. At one time I was going to have 4 chars in Brunoi. That is ridiculous, so I made two of them stay where they were for a day longer, so that I could move one char out of Brunoi.

Sometimes it can be confusing and embarassing to have two players together. Eventually one will speak for the other.

Still happens to me once in a while, and I've been playin' 2 years.

i know... i've done it, and the char i was talking to pinned me on it, and made a comment about "i thought you played him as well"... First thought through my mind was "uh oh.... hope she's not PD"

yea, but if she was PD, it'd be that much worse...

That isn't a real CR breach... It's more of a "wow, don't you feel stupid".

PD doesn't prosecute innocent mistakes.

Depends who you ask.

For the record, I agree.

That's why I decided to start in different language areas. It's harder to mix up things when you need different languages for interacting with others. ;)
