I remember people suggesting something about putting vehicles on boats but buildings is a new one to me.

I see no reason for falter or addition, though. I mean the "It'd be cool" isn't really adding to a suggestion. :lol:

OH but I think it would be nice to clean up some of the building page clutter in some manner. I guess hiding vehicles is the next best thing to outright destroying them.

I'm curious, on a mechanical level, if this would even work. Simply because of how building locations and "locations" are done within the code, etc.

One far day into the future.... when vehicle detoration would be implemented then a garage could be benefetical for its lifetime without the need of maintenance.

Other than that given how often we argues about building/vehicle detoration ... I consider stargates in the game to appear just as likely, or back buttons.

Well, putting a vehicle in a building or on a boat has advantages besides preventing possible rot, so I see slightly better chances.

Yes, but it's a good way to hide a vehicle if someone comes through looking for you, and you run to a town for refuge, and they decide to help you.

Well, double locked is better than single locked, but the more important point is getting a vehicle into another vehicle, in particular boats.

only adding:
this would be great with the suggestion about the "connections" between different buildings.

===================================================

carrier command tower
time: 15 days
materials:
15000 wood
2000 iron
3000 steel
tools: hammer
capacity:
people: 10
weight: 1000000 grams
some items that usually can only be built in land buildings can also be built here
======================================================

either as a room only buildable in a harbour and only one per harbour. vehicles can enter from town, and docked carriers, people can enter from town, docked carriers or the harbour,
or it can be just an upgrade to the harbour giving it the vehicle moving abilities and carrier dockability.
===================================================
and don't think that nobody would go through all that trouble to build it cuz yes there are some who will

Why double posting? I still don't like this moving city. I'd rather have simple ferrys for transporting X grams of vehicles and Y grams of other stuff, with 10 passengers. And slow. Connects to a buidling (vehicle ramp?) to let on/off vehicles, could dock to other locations too, to let passengers on/off.

Any chance of the vehicles being transported by ships idea being implemented soon?

It's being discussed in detail in the development forums, so I guess it's not tht far away.
