Ivory...
Ok I sort of searched this... but... oh well, *starts a fresh topic anyways*
Uses for Ivory... The only thing I see Ivory used for is jewelry.. what a waste ivory is... We can now make clothing with buttons.. why not the choice of using Ivory instead of bone?(fine metals to, gold, silver?)
We can dimond encrust a sabre... why not give blades, carving knives.....or other things Ivory handles.... I know.. still a waste.. bit something else to do with it...
Ivory...mixing bowls... Ivory..containers (that do not hold much of course...? a jewelry box maybe?
I just want to see it be not so useless... even if what it is used for... is basically a useless trinket...

Maybe Ivory pianno keys?
Of course, then we'd also need piannos...
lets see...
Ivory box (ornate storage!)
Ivory pianno keys... (as said above)
(now that i think of it, as far as I know there isnt mush use of ivory besides decoration such as jewerly or luxery.)
Another cool thing would be gorilla hand ash trays! Togeather with expanded ivory prospects, we could start a whole poaching culture!!! The extermination could be endless!

I think we had discussed adding some more "encrusted" items, which could use ivory, pearl, gems, etc, usw. The only downside is that it clutters the build menu, but we have kind of moved past our motivation to keep the build menu uncluttered.

Now an Ivory tower would just be awesome!
Resources:
40000g stone (foundation and walls)
10000g ivory (tiles on the outside/inside of the walls.)
requires: Hammer, trowel
Stats somewhere between a Marble room and a Hall, and visible within 25 pixels on sea.

I still think you should gain % health, maybe as a factor of how much you are carrying. Sure, it wouldn't be very realistic, but neither is killing a tortoise when you deal it 0% damage.
and yes, this is just in jest, in case any of you were confused.
10,000g ivory? so there would be like 1 tower per 50 locations? I'd feel that people would just build a light house and put in rooms. either it has to be seen from farther, or drop the ammount of ivory. that is A LOT of elephant kills.

aahh, having not killed any elephants yet, I just assumed that they wouldn't drop too much. Although now that I think of it, 250g of ivory seems reasonable per elephant.
Something interesting could be like an ivory landmark, like the stone and wooden ones. It could wear away faster than stone, but would be far more ornate and could be like a status symbol if it is used in memory of someone (like a grave stone)

Oh wait wrong game.
Nerd.
But seriously, more uses for ivory would be great. Even though I've never actually seen ivory in the game, so it wouldn't effect me, I'm all for new jewelry stuff and useless trinkets. How about an ivory comb to wear in your hair, for instance?
Something as rare as ivory should be more valuable, and I think it would be if it was actually good for something...

the ivory amoiunt I used was intentionally large, since "The Ivory Tower" is a rather mythological and rare ideal to work for, I'd imagine.
And the cliche of sitting in your ivory tower implies a largesse of wealth and power, something needed to coonstruct such a structure. But the whole suggestion was partially in-jest.
I'd however love a few minor uses for it! Jewelry, encrustment, whatever.
