Please? Can we have north, being up? Not right? If a friend hadn't of told me when I started playing 1 and a bit years ago, I would have been quite frustrated.

Note I'm referring to the viewscreen here. ;)

view screen? leave the map alone on location... most written maps are set up with north to the right,,

A large body of in-game culture and documentation relies on the current map orientation - any change will cause more confusion.

Yeah. I like it how it is. I'd be so screwed up if you shifted the entire world 90 degrees counter-clockwise. You just can't DO that.

It'd be like suddenly announcing that all maps of the world have to have East as up, or South. People are SO used to north being up (even though it's completely arbitrary whether N or S is up) that they'd raise a fuss.

Granted, cantr doesn't have rotation, and it's a torus rather than a sphere, but the basic premise is the same. Cantr has had west=up for 80 years. No need to change it.
