Dynamic skin tones

Postby Solfius » Tue Jun 22, 2004 7:31 pm

A nice little bit of code that adds to a value while you're indoors up to a maxiumum, and subtracts from the same value down to a minimum.
and adjusts a sentence on skin tone in the description.

Result: the more time indoors you spend the paler you get, and the more time outside you spend the darker you get.

I think this would be really easy as this code could work independant of anything else, and would add extra depth to descriptions.

Possibility of a similar one for working/not-working and other similar things maybe...

If you're gonna do this, though, you should have a base one. I mean, someone who's redhead white is never going to end up looking 'mocha', no matter how much time you spend outside.
Maybe red.
Which brings up another thing--how you gonna do the sliding scale? Different skin colors tan different shades of scales. Some people tan red, or orange, or brown, or black. It's not just 'darker or lighter'.

With the implementation of custom descriptions, coupled with a general consensus of movement away from genes, it's safe to say that this has no place in today's Cantr.

Edit: moved to rejected
