Fish

Postby Aeon1 » Sun Jun 03, 2007 7:36 am

I think that there should be fish that you can catch like hunting animals when you are sailing.

Fish can already be gathered as a resource (trout, cod, pike, and salmon), and it is not in the current plans to make them into animals. I am rejecting this suggestion.

Again, I think it's either implemented or at least accepted... but you need a net,, can't do it with fishing pole.

You'll find most things have been suggested already, and it's a good idea to check first using the search function.
Also, a lot of good suggestions would unbalance the game, no matter how logical they may seem, so won't get accepted... but just occasionally, you hit something that is necessary and does get done.

Just to confirm it, you can already gather fish while sailing with nets, though the varieties are currently limited.

You can't use a fishing net while the boat is moving, so it makes fishing nets useless. At least on my boat you can't.

Why useless? If you're hungry enough to need food at sea, you stop the boat and fish.

But you won't eat a raw fish, so you need some wood or dung. Anyway, you'll take with you so much food that you won't need to stop or you'll dock to the nearest ship or place and ask people for food when you're hungry.

Gaining resources for the fish net takes time that you can spend on gathering food.

Thats why IMO fishing nets are useless.

have you ever tried to find new islands? fishingnets are no useless. No matter how much food you bring, you will run out, and then you'll be wishing you had a fishingnet.

On a side note, you should be able to prepare raw fish into sushi :)

Yes, I tried and I found ;) But I needn't have to stop for fishing.

Although, making food from raw fish and only raw fish would change my mind about useless fishing nets ;)
